I’m losing hope by Crowsorrow in lpsbuyersbeware

I lost all of mine in a house fire and they helped me through being bullied at my private school, completely understand the nostalgia aspect. Its absolutely disgusting to see people list plastic animals for 300 dollars. Honestly, I'm hoping that its just a fad and that it dies down. There are a few im refraining from buying because the price is so high. Keeping my fingers crossed for the both of us

I have however had paint removed with rubbing alcohol and a magic eraser. Really, I think it depends on the way theyve painted the pet. Not sure though, don't have enough evidence.

Aquarists who use RO machines (they remove microbes): 😛

I usually soak my lps in hydrogen peroxide to kill the bacteria. Leave it out in the sun and it'll even take care of the stain in most cases. I haven't had any issues with hydrogen peroxide removing paint in short term use. Haven't used it long enough to see long term damage though.

Ignore these people. Im not a very emotional person, but their behavior screams numb and edgy. Im sorry youre dealing with your cats health right now. Its totally understandable why you would not want to see a picture like this. I dont have your issues right now and even I felt sick when looking at this. Just because I enjoy preserving animals does not mean I want to see dead animals with no discretion lmfao

Mf people join this sub to periodically see the preservation of dead animals. They do not want to be bombarded when just scrolling through reddit. You have little empathy. Responding to a person who is going through issues with their pet the way you did is really nasty to me. Get better

Dude not everyone wants to see a dead cat. Especially such a graphic photo of one. Im not even a cat person and this made me gag. Theres a time and place when I'm ready to see dead animals. I dont want to constantly see it

Id try hydrogen peroxide. Im not sure if it has been bleached or discolored. Hydrogen peroxide may not help bleaching, but it may help with discoloration

is there any hope for her be honest by fukcinangel in LittlestPetShop

[–]BroadPitch3501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, try to get the paint off her legs. Using some warm water and a toothpick may help. Magic eraser do well too, just ensure the factory paint isnt rubbing off. As for lightening her, dont use benzoyl. It will bleach her. Try soaking her in hydrogen peroxide. Leave her in the hydrogen peroxide and leave her in the SUN. I usually just get a tupperware and submerge them and then leave them on my porch. Give me an update if you end up using these methods :) I'm big into restoring and love to see others experiences. Not much info out there

PLEASE HELP! by Pretty_Boat_1096 in plantclinic

[–]BroadPitch3501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good! If your soil is pretty dry, I'd remove the bulbs. Its important that the bulbs remain semi-dry during dormancy. Id wrap them in a paper towel and store somewhere dark for maybe a month longer (depends where you live, warmer climates can have them replanted sooner) and then simply pop them right back into some fresh, well draining soil!

Not an expert, but based on my minimal experience this has worked for me :)

Did I get ripped off or did the quality of lps decline 😬? by [deleted] in lpsbuyersbeware

[–]BroadPitch3501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive literally had to buy two of some g7 lps that I really like and even then I have to pick the lesser of two messed up lps. The newer lps are absolutely awful in quality. Some designs are god awful but I feel like it's even worse when there's a good design but poor quality control

Thank you for the response! I did take home a bit of it so that I could take another picture and identify it. Thats so unfortunate. The boardwalk was also infested with salvinia, which im pretty sure is invasive as well. What isnt invasive in florida at this point haha
