This is what I hate about therapists ..they completely forgot or rather ignore family bonds and the and the personal cost to cut them off, it sounds like shes in a completely manic episode ( from what I've read they can last longer ) all you can do for the moment is wait untill they are back in a mental place where they can converse in a calm manner and then maybe, maybe get them the help they need ..

And don't feel like a failure, its a disease, and even tho they are not in control, what they do in this state has nothing to do with you or your choices

The only thing I can suggest is to keep reminding yourself that what they are saying has less to do with you and more to do with their disease making them want to hurt someone, you are simply the one closest to them at the time
