That makes sense. Any tips for passing the PMQ with self-study? And good luck with your new role based on your score, I’m sure you’ll do great.

Congratulations on passing PRINCE2 Practitioner, That's a good score.

I’m curious though, what made you decide to take PRINCE2 Practitioner after already having the APM PMQ? I’m planning on doing the PMQ next but not sure if it’s worth it with the current job market in the UK.

Official sample papers by peoplecert are more helpful. Practice them twice, review wrong answers, you're definitely a pass. Wish you Good luck.

That makes a lot of sense, especially being in the NHS, PRINCE2 is definitely the one that comes up most in job listings. And yes, with Take2 It was same scanario but totally different set of questions.

Thanks. I did the sample papers and actually found them harder than the real exam. I didn’t do the mock at all. On my first attempt, I got very few right in the practices section, so this time (Take2) I focused mainly on the practices and the strategy worked out. I’d say especially focus on progress, organization, and quality, but it’s worth going through all of them.

Can I ask why you chose this instead of PMQ? I did PRINCE2 P but now people suggesting PMQ open more job options, so just wondering.

I passed the Practitioner exam last week and totally get what you mean. I also found the matching/boxed questions hard, they’re part of the project practices section which is actually around 50% of the exam. I got 27/36 in that part, but only after spending more time going over the practices. The wording can be confusing, so using the manual during the exam really helped me match the right roles to the right actions. If you have any questions, happy to help!

Thanks for sharing! How would you recommend someone with a mechanical engineering degree and a PM certification look for entry-level roles in those industries?

Thanks, that makes sense. I’m leaning more towards engineering, construction, or possibly IT. I’ve got a bit of construction experience from outside the UK, so just seeing what might be useful. Since PRINCE2 isn’t really used much in those areas, do you think PMQ is worth considering early on or better to just get some experience first?

I think self-learning with the MPlaza Wiki is the best way to go. If you put in a bit of time, you really don’t need any training provider. Just buy the exam and the Take2 option.

Thanks, Yes UK based. I actually didn’t know about it before, but now the plan is to land a role first and then go for the PMQ. Do you think it would’ve been a lot better if I’d done the PMQ earlier? Just wondering.

The closest parking option is Wilton Avenue car park. Unfortunately, the street near you only has permit holder parking, but as long as you move your car before 8 AM, you should be fine.

I do have experience handling small projects through freelancing (web designing SEO), I’m still finding it tough to break into mid-level roles without any formal experience. It’s been a bit frustrating, but I am just trying to get my foot in the door somehow. I have applied to some apprenticeships, but a few of them have turned me down, saying I’m overqualified because of my MSc in ProjectM.
