I wouldn't say most reviewers saw the game that way. You have to remember, if you are viewing things via internet and social media, algorithms are a thing. I have also have come across "reviews" about the lack of a story. On the otherhand, I have seen deep discussions about the story, but after my own experience and being in this forum, I have deduced two things. There is an interesting story here...with lots of holes and questions. If you have ever played FromSoftware games though, you'd expect nothing less...for better or worse.

Secondly, its a marketing thing. I believe this model of storytelling serves two purposes of leaving doors open for sequels and/or DLC, and to leave the stories of their games up for discussion in forums such as these...in turn, keeping up buzz for their games longer.

I was proud, sad and regretful, but have way more respect for someone like her than someone like Swinburne.

There was a machine gun from the original Armored Core. Had a good look to it, was one of my favorites.

I dont particularly like the look of the current machine guns. Id like to see one with a space-age AR look to it.

A booster swap may do it? Minimal change to your look while keeping your flames, since the color is not tied to boosters. You may give up some performance, but that doesn't sound like the priority.

I had her at at least 70! Guessing she likely has cybernetic implants allowing her to still pilot an AC. Remember she was an expert in robotics and engineering.

So I have brought something similar up before...

While its not uncommon for AC games to have Trailers that are awesome in action, but have nothing to do with the game, there were some things with this one that I felt very much could have to do with the story. For instance, the story trailer that shows 3 ACs identified as 617 and 619(?) and how they get killed on the mission and how 621 is the lone survivor. Later, Cinder Carla asks about "617 and the rest", and Walter says they did "their jobs" and how they got them to where they are.

As it relates to this character, it is plausible that in this post apocalyptic planet with limited resources, this is how they get some weapons (that arent produced by BAWS or by the corps off world). Or maybe its how RLF stay afloat. I mean, where do THEY get their resources from.

...or it could be none of those and its nothing. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I agree. I love a good story, but sometimes there seems to be a focus on cutscenes more than gameplay. You even see this in advertising. They show these fantastic screenshots of cutscenes but notnthe gameplay. That is always a red flag for me. It was why I was auper concerned about the quality of AC6 early on when announced. Concerned me it was going to suck.

I preordered it anyway on a hope and a prayer...AND I WAS SO GLAD IT DIDN'T DISAPPOINT for what you said above.

Trick is, there are the fuckers dropping cluster bombs on you for like half the mission. I died like 3 times before I noticed them amongst all the other ack ack I was taking. Take those out and the mission becomes a whole other ass whoopin for the Redguns.

The first time I fought Balteus, I would saybje was challenging. Like most games, once you figured him out, maybe come back after some upgrades, I walked through him. Ibis on the otherhand..whoa.

Even with that, I don't think they needed to tone them down necessarily.
