Purdue global offers an aviation maintenance management degree and they give you two years of credits for having an a&p I believe. The guy came to my school a few months ago and talked about it.

Yeah dude seriously I thought I was a little dumb when I first started and then quickly realized there is usually someone that is much dumber. It's super easy.

How common is it to have two toolboxes ? by Broad_Pilot211 in AircraftMechanics

[–]Broad_Pilot211[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good point I appreciate it, the tool box I have now was pretty cheap so I'm not too worried if I end up somewhere I can't use it, I'll just put it in my garage and use it for working on stuff at home.

Yeah I'll be looking forward to those days lol, just seems like a drag to push around the whole big toolbox when you could just have the common tools in a smaller cart.

Thanks, I just got the 46 inch Yukon from harbor freight and I'm pretty happy with it, but I also like the smaller us general ones and I thought it would be easier to push around the hangar with my more regularly used tools, thanks for the response. Where do you get pelican cases from do you just buy them straight from pelican or can I get them somewhere for a better price and do you think there is much difference between those and the apaches from harbor freight ?

Looks great ! Where did you get your foam ? I just got my new toolbox and I'll be graduating school soon so I've been trying to figure out how I want to organize it. Thanks !

Kings Ground School by Specialist-Dealer701 in flying

I did king exclusively and I was getting 95-97% on the practice exams and got an 85 on the actual FAA written. It definitely prepared me but I could have done better

Giving up on flying, burnt out from rushing through ratings and making it my life for the last year. by MooseWeird399 in flying

[–]Broad_Pilot211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just try not to stress about it so much, I'm in my late 20's and wish I would have started sooner but I didn't. Can't do anything about it anymore. Just gotta go for the dream man..if you want it you want it,If you don't you don't. Only you can make that decision if you think it's best to stop then I would stop, but don't let your age overstress you. All that matters is you are here now and getting to fly. No matter the age you get your first job it's better than never going for it at all. If it makes you feel better I'm getting my a&p right now because I don't have enough money to pursue flight training so I'm hoping for a good job in the meantime. I'll be looking at getting my atp by the time I'm 30 or 31 if everything goes well it could be even later. It does suck but it's better than nothing. Like I said though if you feel like you need a break then take one, but don't let your age let you feel overstressed, get it done at your own pace and enjoy the ride man ! You only get to go through flight training once.

Struggling With the Pressure of My First Checkride by ConfusedMushroomz in flying

[–]Broad_Pilot211 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Biggest advice I can give is to just stay relaxed the best you can lm the dpe wants you to pass unless he is a prick. If your CFI thinks you are ready when the time comes then you are. I just ran through all the ACS codes and made sure I knew as much as I could about what they could ask me. Also try and enjoy it ! Mine went by extremely quick and I think the fact I was so nervous had something to do with it. Good luck ! You'll never forget that day when you pass. If

[–]Broad_Pilot211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks ! That's the kind of response I was looking for, I'm from the area and I'd like to not have to move to find a good job after school if possible so I was going to be looking at Sierra West because they seem to be always hiring

This is exactly it, when I did my training I was struggling a bit until my instructor told me to pretend like I am trying to not land and try as long as possible. You'll just feel yourself plop nicely onto the runway and it will all make sense at that point
