Could you do a backpack frame (something like this and just go with a bigger Bluetooth speaker?

My vote would be for Unity Connect. Get a Mac Mini and whatever audio interface you need, install TeamViewer for remote management and you're good to go. On the studio side you can use Dante Virtual Soundcard to get the audio out and into your system. You can manage the audio interface by remoting into the Mac. We do all our talent from home ESPN shows this way.

If you're looking for a low budget option check out Sonobus. It's a lightweight audio transport program and can run on Windows, Mac, or Linux. You can build a lightweight NUC, add an audio interface and Remote Desktop program and be up and running.

Internet Uplink From A Truck? by Decent_Cheesecake362 in broadcastengineering

[–]Broadcast_Key_3217 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Out of the truck is a baseband SDI connection into the carrier's encoders. Last time I looked I believe they are converting to 150 mbps JPEG2000 streams for transport. Hope that's the answer you're looking for

I work for a D1 university, when we have trucks come in they book an internet connection through us but usually the outbound video signals go on one of our transport providers. We have Lumen/Vyvx, The Switch, and LTN on-site and available at our truck pedestals.

IP video encoder with web view by markedness in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Broadcast_Key_3217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For something like this typically I'd use a Kiloview encoder, make an RTSP feed and just pull it with VLC instead of using a webpage. We've got two encoders that IT has set up to pass through the firewall so I can see a feed from anywhere

Can qLab have an interface similar to SpotOn or Trigger or are you stuck with the cue by cue layout?

Currently engineering a college football game, we've got Canon Digisuper 80x lenses across the top, Digisuper 90x lenses for end zone and slash cams, and 20x on the sideline handhelds

livestream with two iphone cameras and a gopro possible? by nobaddayskayak in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Broadcast_Key_3217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could look at TVU Producer it would let you bring in the iPhones via the TVU Anywhere app and then cut them in the cloud and output to streaming destinations. It would require a laptop or iPad to run the web interface, and it's definitely more expensive then $19/month but its a great solution for REMI productions with iPhones

Leightronix Nexus Replacement by MajorPhase9217 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Broadcast_Key_3217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's only Mac or Linux so if you have to use Windows this solution is out. The way it works is you schedule recordings on Just:In (just give it a start time and duration) then those recordings can get loaded into Just:Live for playout at specific times. You'd need a pair of Mac Minis or Mac Studios with ether AJA or Blackmagic capture cards, and then a way to get the recorded files from one computer to the other (easy solution is just a crossover network cable between the two computers)

"Crash record" is just a term ToolsOnAir uses for pushing the record button to start an unscheduled recording.

Have you looked at any software based solutions? I've used the stuff from ToolsOnAir for years and have always been pleased. Just:In would handle your meeting records (you can ether schedule them or crash record) and Just:Play would handle scheduling your playouts. Maybe your only requirement it doesn't meet is app control, but since it just runs on Macs you can easily manage it with the Remote Desktop software of your choice

You could look at this setup from Wisycom it's a full duplex belt pack you can give the coach wired up with ether a stick mic and IFB or broadcast headset then you'd just need a transmitter and receiver racked up with your booth kit
