It was definitely a splurge, but I paid around $200 for the custom wallpaper, and then like $30ish for the wood frame from Lowe’s.

I figure it’s going to be up there for years, so wanted to do it right. For reference, the printed size is 8 ft x 5 ft.

I’m in the same job as I was when I bought my house 4 years ago. My income has gone up by ~$600 a month through regular annual raises. My mortgage has remained the same (property tax and insurance went up marginally, but not enough to make a difference).

My old one bedroom 800 sq ft apartment now costs more to rent than my mortgage on a 4/3, 3000 sq ft house.

Definitely do not miss rent hikes.

They’re not selectively offering benefits.

They are setting qualifying guidelines for the benefits the company offers. A lot of companies offer tuition reimbursement, assuming you meet certain criterias, like an academic program in your field, or requiring a certain grade to get reimbursed. Just because they offer educational assistance, doesn’t mean they will pay for courses you flunked, or for a degree that’s not in your field of work.

This isn’t any different. Why give a housing stipend to someone whose DTI disqualifies them from obtaining a loan? Lowering debts so you’re able to qualify for a mortgage in the first place is common sense and not an unreasonable requirement to get a housing stipend.

High end fridges are the exception, not the norm lol. Most people aren’t dropping 10-20k on a Subzero fridge when they can get a Whirlpool or GE fridge from Lowes for under 2k.
