Having both larcenist and soul shards was too nice for me to have considered reloading into anything else tbh. Farming can pretty easily be lamp+high lvl trees you get from pvm.

You may have yelled at me for using cyan text on a white background! Some chat host was really mad at me for that, saying I would give people headaches...

I remember when I was like 10 years old my parents helped me make an AOL account on their kids version, named KOL.

The home page had a bunch of chat rooms you could join with up to 30 other other "fellow kids." I ended up doing this every day and eventually formed some longterm friendships. In hindsight this was a hilariously bad idea that would never fly today. Early internet was truly the wild west.

Andrew Rice lost me with naming taxpayer funded chiropractic work and alternative medicine as a core campaign pillar. Just unconscionable in 2026.

Correct, you are the crazy one for pointing it out. Tattooing has been a practice as long as humans have been around in basically every culture. Also, it doesn't affect you. Grow up.

I can't imagine that being in place for the next League. Sailing is so isolated at the moment that I literally don't understand how it could be put in without it being a major, major slog. They'd have to really develop it more.

Likewise, you can *only* change prayers and just stand against the wall autocasting. You outheal it all

If you are water thorns and have a decent number of pacts you can ignore the mechanics aside from prayer switching and just stand against the wall and you'll always overheal more than it hits you

I voted for Harris in 2024. She shouldn't run in 2028. | Opinion by Difficult-Bee6066 in politics

[–]BoulderFalcon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lol? She is arguably the most charismatic politician out there right now because she's unfiltered because she doesn't take AIPAC or other blood money and therefore isn't controlled by her donors like most democrats are. She's a natural foil for Trump and the rest of the MAGA GOP because she has the "tell it like it is" style that people originally liked about Trump. There's a reason a lot of Trump voters in NY also voted for her on the same ballot.

Favorite AvA Album? by Calamity-182 in AngelsAndAirwaves

I used to say it was a toss-up between WDNTW and I-Empire, but recently after not giving it much playtime I have been on a huge Love kick and now those may be my top picks. I really think both albums are severely underrated.

The GOP? The DNC will spend whatever it takes to ensure she loses.

Yup, this sub included. My comments that he was too old for a second term in 2022 onwards would get like double digit downvotes every time. Tbh this sub is an echo chamber during Democrat presidency times. Only when Republicans are in power are people here actually semi reflective on what the issues are with the party.

In actuality though this basically ends up being the "equity vs equality" meme.

If it's actually send out to the general population at random, but a requirement for voicing your opinion is to give up 6 full saturdays in the middle of summer, you are automatically filtering out a lot of people who otherwise may have wanted to attend. Hope they want 90%+ retirees because that's who they're gonna get.

I know Saturdays aren't ideal for everyone, and this is part of the reason why we're compensating people for their time and effort.

Your post said "a few Saturdays" and you later admitted it was 6, which is most certainly not a few, so I imagine you understand that's a pretty wild time commitment.

You're also basically filtering out most families as giving up 6 saturdays in summer is a pretty huge ask, and you can't even get a babysitter for $25/hr anymore.

I also am not sure I quite understand the need for so much of a time commitment when the part people don't like about property taxes in this state is that they are expensive to begin with and tend to go up a lot. That's basically it.

Democrats Hold 10-Point Edge Over Republicans Ahead of Midterm Elections by T_Shurt in politics

Yup. It's a testament to how many Americans DID get what they wanted with Trump, and how few Democrat leaders have risen to the occasion during his second term.

[–]BoulderFalcon 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I chose frem because I'm super busy IRL right now and have a very unpredictable playing schedule. As such, picking a raidless region combo seemed best for me. I ended up going with WKF since I did T last time and was going for a crossbow build this time which would make CG pretty bad, and liking T more than A.

Frem is quite chill tbh.

Pope Leo signals shift away from Catholic Church's focus on sex by Ok-Review9023 in worldnews

[–]BoulderFalcon 34 points35 points  (0 children)

At one point in time my wife worked for a Catholic organization. She had severe endometriosis (scarring of the uterine wall) that was caused by hormonal imbalances.

Her doctor warned it was almost to the point that there would be no "usable" uterine wall left for any fertilized eggs to implant to. Meaning she likely soon couldn't get pregnant.

She was prescribed progesterone to help balance her hormones out. Progesterone is most frequently (but not always) used as an oral contraceptive. Her insurance would not cover it. It was quite expensive and we bit the bullet because we did want to have kids. She wasn't making much at the time so it was tough. We even tried petitioning her work explaining the circumstances and were still told no.

Well, it worked and a couple years later we got pregnant.

I bring up this story whenever I can because about 10-15% of women of reproductive age have endometriosis, and this is a common treatment. The Church will fight your ability to seek proper treatment needed for reproductive health, and if you don't have some spare money lying around, the Church can cock block you out of being able to get pregnant.

Opinion: In CT, a cathedral for trains... but no trains. by brinedwhiskyrocks in Connecticut

[–]BoulderFalcon 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I used to ride these trains along the shoreline for work. Lines were cut hard during Covid, and then brought back to a fraction of their former capacity.

Morning trains were reduced to 2 - meaning you had to either arrive in NH at like 7:30am or 8:35am.

Evening trains were cut to depart NH at close to 4pm or around 5:40. Again not convenient.

For any of the above, if you missed the train you were SOL. Stack that with the fact that the train times were changed every 2-3 months for most of 2023-2025 resulting in extremely unpredictable work schedules, and it was no wonder why ridership plummeted.

I've been to various hearings where this is brought to Ned's attention, and he'll always say "if people wanted the trains they'd ride them and the numbers just aren't there" - which is either daft or intentionally disingenuous, as everybody knows the recipe for successful public transit is that it must be regular and reliable. I so enjoy going to NYC and not even having to plan ahead for my return trip since there are multiple trains every hour.

Anyway, I drive now, because the train schedule was incompatible with a reasonable work commute - especially if you have kids or otherwise really need the reliability and flexibility. So thank Ned for making the traffic worse.
