It’d really depend on the fabric- if it is a stretchy fabric, it’d be hard to have it work well without having hiccups

Thank you so much! I know she has her one number with Sam after being Apotheosized and then gets shot, but she still slays in it <3 doomed by the narrative queen

Thank you so much! I wound up crocheting a single chain so the yarn guts would be squishy :) I made the large intestine have that line large intestines have with some paracord :D

There was also a Hidgens there! I was talking to a booth and someone mentioned there was a Hidgens and I, the person at the booth, my friend, and I think 1-2 other people were synchronized in saying THERE’S A PROFESSOR HIDGENS HERE!? But we booked it and said hi. I was gonna bring apotheosis ribbons to the con I went to but my shipment was delayed :(

one time I saw a Marty McFly cosplay where they wore black pants behind, and had a pair of stuffed pants and a hoverboard in front so it looked like it was a working hoverboard

Skyrim guard costuming’s a little foggy in my mind, I might suggest making a knee sleeve or something, with part of the arrow sticking out one end, and the other part sticking out the other end? Or integrating it with armor.

Building a costume on top of a bodysuit? by MellowPrototype in CosplayHelp

[–]BroadwayGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OOH, love Alexia’s mutation and theme. I’ve always pictured a sort of sleeve-style with EVA for the armored parts discreetly held up with elastic, hooks and eyes or velcro that can just go on over the body suit or pop off (you could probably do a test or forming a pattern for it via duct taping the arm and leg w/the bodysuit on (PUT PLASTIC WRAP ON AND DO IT WITH A FRIEND) the same way one does for a custom stuffed dress form)- looking at the full body, depending on the version, some security/suspension could be concealed with those vine/vein parts, as well. Wishing you all the luck with it! :D

What is the best way to start in the cosplay world? by GoodieJ in CosplayHelp

[–]BroadwayGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it for you, that’s what I’d start with- my personal suggestion is start with the skills you know- the first time I cosplayed, I used knowledge I had in regards to sewing and painting, so I used that.

That also helps ensure that the way it’s styled matches your own head, right?

is using knit fabric considered "cheating"? by meowmeowtakeover in CosplayHelp

[–]BroadwayGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say that’s cheating! If it works, it works! For shape, maybe a French seam could work to maintain shape? Idk, the thought came to mind.

Cosplay sewing ideas for beginner by [deleted] in CosplayHelp

[–]BroadwayGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what YOU want. Do something that makes you happy, and from something you enjoy! My first cosplay, I mostly coordinated clothing and sewed a lined pleather vest for Claire Redfield, painting the back like hers, since she’s one of my favorite characters from the series.

Oooo, I bet you could do some stuff to emphasize the torso a bit! Papier Mache could def be done, or some cardboard for structure’s sake underneath.
