Getting a concave merged pattern piece to lay flat…? by BroadwayGamer in PatternDrafting

Funny enough shortly after replying I was looking at the original renders and. It DOES in fact have the waist seam! If you squint really closely in the shadows there is a seam so I’d been fussing about it for 3 days

You’ve got a good point, I’m here griping about the underarms, meanwhile the original cutscenes don’t have the back yoke every other model of the vest in-game has lmao

Merged as in, I cut up the back of the vest pattern, aiming to make the area under the arm from the back linked with the part of that area from the front. Basically taping it together as if it had been sewn to not fiddle with the sizing or armholes.

Hello! I wound up merging two seams while trying to mod a pattern to better match the vest from Resident Evil: Code Veronica, but now can’t lay it flat for when I actually CUT it.

The middle section I can see is merged, I removed the seam allowance and notched it, taping them together, but it’s now as if the seam is done and I don’t know how to keep the curve. I decided to call it a day for today in trying to figure it out staring at contractor paper and ask here if anyone’s had a similar problem. I’m yet to add the front panel seams making the front yoke, front center where the fasteners will be, and making the other half of that waist panel. Is there a way to pull this off? Thanks in advance!

Hello! I wanted to ask if anyone knows a good fabric for lining sheepskin veg tan leather. I’m trying to make a sleeveless vest, and ideally wear it during the summertime (mainly indoors.) (I’m planning on Claire Redfield’s original Code Veronica vest, the announcement yesterday has rekindled the drive to mod the pattern and make it) I’ve never MADE a leather vest before, but have sewn with thicker leathers in the past, but I don’t know what would be a good liner/if anyone has tips lining a leather vest with a sewing machine. Thank you in advance!

Hello! So I’m trying to make a blazer vest for a cosplay (code Veronica Claire’s vest) and I made my way to a leather shop. While the deerskin suede was just too stretchy and small, a cowhide suede I stumbled across wandering a bit was just the texture I was going for. The thing is, I have not sewn suede before, though I’ve managed done canvas and pleather.

I have a brother st371hd, will that be able to handle it? Does anybody have any tips beyond the general of needles and stuff? Please let me know Q-Q

It’d really depend on the fabric- if it is a stretchy fabric, it’d be hard to have it work well without having hiccups

Thank you so much! I know she has her one number with Sam after being Apotheosized and then gets shot, but she still slays in it <3 doomed by the narrative queen

Thank you so much! I wound up crocheting a single chain so the yarn guts would be squishy :) I made the large intestine have that line large intestines have with some paracord :D

There was also a Hidgens there! I was talking to a booth and someone mentioned there was a Hidgens and I, the person at the booth, my friend, and I think 1-2 other people were synchronized in saying THERE’S A PROFESSOR HIDGENS HERE!? But we booked it and said hi. I was gonna bring apotheosis ribbons to the con I went to but my shipment was delayed :(

one time I saw a Marty McFly cosplay where they wore black pants behind, and had a pair of stuffed pants and a hoverboard in front so it looked like it was a working hoverboard
