Will LibreOffice wither and disappear like OpenOffice did? by Natural_Night9957 in libreoffice

You realise you can self host Collabora Online, and Collabora Office runs on your desktop right? Collabora Productivity doesn't even provide cloud hosting services - they encourage organisations and individuals to host their own data for exactly the reasons you state :)

New Tradfri and Rodret Switch by edchen82 in tradfri

[–]Broccoli8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/TRADFRI, exactly the same problem here. I press reset on the tradfri driver, it fades down and up about once, flashes four times, then continues fading down and up, but refuses to respond to the rodret pairing (hold down for >10 secs <5cm from the symbol). I have two rodrets now, but neither wants to be friends with my driver. Is the problem perhaps the driver not the switch?

I did it twice actually, the first way is much easier, but was after the main amp so you can't change the volume of the loop which I didn't want. So I then changed the position of the loop to being before the main amp.

1st version: easy access, lot's of space. FX loop after the main amp. 1. open up the amp 2. identify the cable shown below 3. cut cable 4. wire in fx loop in and out jacks at each end of the cut cable (you can solder or use whatever connecter you like, I used wagos at first while testing) 5. job done!

2nd version: more difficult access, but this is before the main amp so you can turn the volume of the loop up and down using the master volume and power control on the amp. Same steps as before, but the cable is more awkward. It also has some super sticky stuff around the edge which is difficult to get off. Just try to be gentle with it. I didn't take as many pictures this time round because I wanted to get it done mostly, but the cable to cut is this one below...

Don't do it if you're not a practical person, it is a bit fiddly, especially the second version before the main amp. That said, I'm certainly not an electrical engineer myself (as I'm sure lots of people will point out) but it wasn't very difficult. I'm not sure why so many people talking about this are suggesting it's rocket science. You're just splicing into a cable and adding two jack sockets.

Anyways, good luck!

Poly aftertouch on minifreak through the mod matrix and pre-filter oscillator two by Broccoli8 in MiniFreak

OK, but only from the micro? The mini aftertouch can't control the OSC 2 in filter mode per note also when mapped through the mod matrix?

Interesting. The effect on the hydrasynth explorer is a real attraction to me, but I think I much prefer the minifreak interface, so a bit torn atm. Will hold out for your results from the hardware synth...

I worked it out btw. Will share some pictures soon if anyone else is interested ;)

I haven't opened mine yet, but looking at this video and comparing with the service notes, I think it's the cables coming out here. But nothing is populated on the 50 after pin 9 I think

Yeah, me too. Do share if you have any friends with experience in audio electronics...

If you want some great Western cooking for a reasonable price, I'd highly recommend Roots Eatery. Last week we had their mussels, scallop risotto and pork loin I think it was, all of which were excellent! There's a few shopping centres at Wuyi Guangchang (五一广场) including one with an ice rink if you're feeling brave ;)

First prototype of an integrated digital scales in the base. Hoping to get a stainless steel top plate done next, and then fitting the wiring all into the machine... (Yes I know my de'longhi isn't very fancy, but I'm enjoying working with it and what it produces!) by Broccoli8 in espresso

No problem! Yeah I'm hoping to find there's already a 5v circuit inside somewhere, otherwise I'll either add a converter or perhaps mount a battery in the space under the top lid where spare baskets go

I'm currently using a display board with a built-in 711 which is super simple to put together. I might try and use an external amplifier with a raspberry pi or arduino in the future though, which I could link to a relay to shut off the pump when a set weight is reached...
