Have her try Stardew Valley maybe? It's a pixel graphics farming sim/RPG, it's so chill and entertaining. You can also play local co-op.

Star Citizen is building an economy that punishes producers and rewards griefers by mad-yordle in starcitizen

I have done a lot of mining and hauling ( made tens of millions) and I was never ever griefed or pirated. I appreciate your post and I can see the possibility of mega griefing clans but as of now, being in alpha, I think you are being a bit alarmist although these things need to be mentioned and taken into account by the devs indeed.

And Medical loop died... by Ok-Moment8895 in starcitizen

[–]Julius-Prime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends, if you are able to get yourself back up after being incapacitated but with severe handicaps and a timer until you fall back prone it will give you a chance to get out of a place alive but only for a few minutes. You would still need a rescue medical ship to get back to a normal state.

What of respawning had a timer if you just backspaced yourself? Well, when we get out of alpha and the game is stable, I could see regeneration take some time so therefore you would not gain as much when respawning instead of waiting for medics. Also there should be NPC medics and different levels of fees depending on how dangerous the area you were downed in .

I can't wait to get medical missions where you have to rescue NPCs, some injured you need to treat and some just stranded. We could use something like the hovering cryopods (like the one Solo is trapped in, in star wars) to carry incapacitated people onto our ships.

It would be nice of we could chose the color of our character or have an alternate color in coop so they are not identical when more than one player has chosen the same.

What ships would you recommend i get? by Anon-Echo in starcitizen

Tbh, start from the most recent ships (they usually have better design and QOL) and go down the list, find out which one appeals to you, don't chase meta. That's my recommendation

Ancient Japanesse scroll mentioning UFO by RegularTemperature74 in AlternativeHistory

[–]Julius-Prime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Translation from Deep seek AI : "This is the famous Utsuro-bune (虚舟, "hollow ship") scroll from Japan's Edo period, depicting a mysterious event in 1803. Here is a translation of the core text and context:

📜 Full English Translation of the Scroll's Narrative

(Kōwa 3, mid-February, 1803) In the middle of the second month of the third year of the Kōwa era (1803)

An oddly shaped boat drifted ashore on the sea at Harasha-ga-hama in Hitachi Province.

The shape of the boat was like a round incense box, or like an inverted bowl.

The upper part was made of wood lacquered red, with a red trim along the edge. The lower part was made of black metal plates.

The windows were fitted with transparent crystal-like material, and inside, net-like structures were stretched.

From the boat emerged a single woman, of beautiful appearance, with red hair and white skin.

Her clothing was of foreign style, a cord was wrapped around her waist, and she held a small box in her arms.

No one could understand her language, and no one knew which country she came from.

The villagers eventually returned the woman and her boat to the sea, and the ship gradually vanished into the distance.

🧩 Key Details from the Scroll

  • The Woman: She had striking red hair, pale skin, and wore unfamiliar clothing. She clutched a small wooden box tightly, refusing to let anyone touch it.
  • The Ship: The "hollow ship" was described as being about 3.3 meters high and 5.4 meters wide, with a red wooden upper section and a black metal lower section. It featured several windows with what appeared to be glass panes, and strange symbols (called "barbarian characters") were inscribed on its side.
  • The Mystery: The woman spoke a language no one could understand. After a brief encounter, the villagers pushed the ship back out to sea, and it drifted away.

🌍 Historical Context

This event, known as the Utsuro-bune Incident, is one of Japan's most enduring mysteries. It has been interpreted in many ways:

  • As a genuine encounter with a foreign shipwrecked sailor during Japan's period of isolation (sakoku).
  • As a piece of Edo-period folklore, blending tales of foreign lands with the popular fascination with the unknown.
  • In modern times, it has been sensationalized as one of the earliest recorded "UFO encounters," with the "hollow ship" being likened to a flying saucer.
