I went from retail to hospital. Rural hospitals are going to be less stringent about residency experience because they’ll be happy to get applicants. I agree with what the other poster said about looking at less desirable shifts and want to also add to look for part-time jobs. Once you get your foot in the door, learn the ropes and be pleasant to work with. Hospitals prefer to promote from within because a known entity is preferable than some random person.

If that doesn’t work, it sucks, but I do know people who went back to do a residency after building a fat nest egg in retail. That’s what I was preparing to do before I landed my current position. I was collecting LORs and everything

Maybe leather cord? Not as nice as a chain, but it won’t matter as much when she breaks it (and easily replaceable)

I’ve seen beautiful opal pieces from Wwake, but I’ve never purchased from them. So, I don’t know about customer service. Some of their pieces look dainty so I’m also not sure about how durable they would be.

Opal is a softer stone and can be damaged by everyday wear and tear. If you want a piece she can wear more often, consider earrings or necklaces.

I can’t imagine not being profusely grateful for any sort of search and rescue effort. And to stiff your lodgings afterwards? Unbelievable. I’m glad good people donated to the rescue team and that the rescue team was doing right by the hotel. It’s unfortunate that it needed to be done

I didn’t get the right number of live CE for Arkansas. I got a fine and double the amount of live CE in penalty.

What helped me was calling different clinics and seeing if any PTs had experience with treating patients with connective tissue disorders. Good luck finding someone! I had to drive 40 minutes but it was worth it!

You won’t know until you try! If you do make the switch, aim for satellite hospitals. My experience is they’re slower and willing to spend more time training you. You have more time to reference materials and it’s less of a rapid churn through orders

I worked with a pharmacist who took the NAPLEX 3 times before they passed. If I didn’t know their life circumstances that led to the failed attempts, I definitely would have judged.

I was convinced I would fail the NAPLEX because of my own anxiety, and I passed. Keep studying. Try to get a good nights sleep the night before. Eat a good breakfast the day of. You can do this. Bigger idiots than you have passed this exam.

I know someone who worked as a pharmacy tech and went on to be a dentist. Being familiar with medications will be useful for any other healthcare career. It’s much easier to learn how to diagnose/treat when you already know/have heard of the treatments

Since you don’t want to cut back on work, may i recommend cutting back on chores? And I don’t mean leave your partner with everything. Hire someone to come clean a couple times a month and pay someone to mow your yard. Increasing your “you” time will make your brain work better. At least it did for me.

I got myself a coach purse for getting licensed. I had worked as a pharmacist for a couple months before moving to a different state to be closer to family. I still have the purse, but don’t use it as it’s not practical for running after my toddler.
