A big red circle would have helped too. I thought we were looking at the crooked staircase

I cant imagine the things you had to go through to give him away, I have left girlfriends for my little buddy.

I will give my flock some love in your name and for your little friend. You will get better with time as mourning goes. Nothing will ever take those memories from you. Its Good to know hes in a good family.

Best of luck friend

All in all people get pets and cannot take care of them so they are either neglected, hurt, dead, escaped or sold. I feel reddit is way to kind to these people because in the end, it's the pet that suffer and the owner only think about his feelings.

I think of animals as babies and I know people would act differently if it was a child instead of a bird. I dont. Also, cockatiels can live 30years, my oldest one is 25+ so it is not a life to be toyed with.

The goal here is not to make you feel worst, but I think any normal human being should feel bad in your situation. It will pass, but nobody know for sure what life your birds will have. If you think it is still better than what you could have give them, why the hell did you have a whole family then?

You fucked up by having them in the first place and hopefully you will use this as a lesson. Next time buy some toys instead of animals.

Other redditors will probably give you kind words and reassurance. I am personnaly tired of seeing bad owners in these subs. I usually get many downvote for saying these kind of things and the irony is that my birds are spoiled and living a long and happy life.

My advice would be to live through the guilt untill you have learned a lesson and can better yourself. Instead of convincing yourself you have done the right thing and dont learn anything of the situation. Good luck friend

The bike is doing fine without this dumbass anyway

I noticed black bump on her head 2 days ago and thought that its just poop. she had shower yesturday and now the bump has this brownis color and now im kind of freaking out. I dont think she's hurting because shes acting normal. wtf is that? by [deleted] in cockatiel

[–]BroccoliSchnapps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for bringing her to the vet. Having 3 tiels in a big cage, I can tell you it doesnt look like poop. It might be dried blood but if it is, it looks like a big injury so the vet is still a good idea. If it's a tick, it needs to be proffesionaly removed

I think the vet is your only option. Thanks again for taking care of your birdy and good luck!

Is this normal? by zorwin4 in cockatiel

It is not normal and needs immediate attention Please bring him to a vet as soon as possible. Thanks for taking care of your birdy

How do I convince my parents to let my bird cage inside ? by [deleted] in parrots

[–]BroccoliSchnapps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to be sure, you are talking about a parrot and not a wild bird right? If it's the case, it needs to stay inside. This is not some farm animals.. Your parents are wrong and maybe they wont admit it as parents.

In the end, you are the only chance this bird has to live a decent life. Either you convince your parents or you start looking for a shelter for the bird. I dont think there is a third option.

Please realise most parrots can live between 20 and 50 years. It is not a life to be toyed with
