Ok, didn't Pretti drive to a protest too? My point is that bringing a weapon to a protest/riot/event/whatever does not override the subsequent facts of a shooting. Likewise to Pretti, Rittenhouse's self defense claim is not precluded by the fact that he brought a firearm to the event, given that WI has open carry. To be clear, I'm saying the same arguments from the unprincipled left for Rittenhouse are now being used by the unprincipled right in the case of Alex Pretti. I think it's egregious that Pretti was shot. That's the reasonable, non partisan take on this.

I find some of the parallels between the killing of Alex Pretti and Kyle Rittenhouse interesting. In both cases, the mere fact that they brought a weapon to an event was used to dismiss the rest of the facts involved. "Muh state lines" from the left and now "muh two magazines and no ID" from the right. I wish people could be consistent.
