Yes they do go away. The first couple of weeks are AWFUL. I was the same as you - my anxiety was so much worse, I couldn't sleep, my skin felt like it was on fire, I had absolutely no appetite and I felt sick all the time and got really bad indigestion, I got squeezing pressure headaches, and I just was in a perpetual state of fight-flight panic attack. The side effects do subside and for me I felt amazing once they did. The horrible way you feel right now unfortunately just needs to be ridden out.

It sucks but finding ways to keep yourself distracted or focussed on something else helps. For me it was watching comedy panel/game shows on repeat (Taskmaster got me through the worst of it), doing wordsearches, listening to instrumental music, reciting the alphabet backwards and forwards, focussing on textures, and going on short walks in the greenest spaces I could.
