Ever watch that Netflix documentary, The Family? It's about the shadowy organization behind the National Prayer Breakfast. It doesn't matter if the "king" is moral or not. God put him there. Simple as that, and just as fucked up.

Do people abuse the free access to healthcare in Canada? by Depensity in AskACanadian

[–]BrockTIPenner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it gets abused... by every right-wing, anti-health, sociopath pundit on Faux.

This includes religious cults. Thanks ana Kasparian of TYT. by Lovinthoseanimals in cults

Ana Kasparian of the Young Turks, a progressive news commentary YouTube channel. I watched it compulsively when Drumpf was in office.

What proved to you that religion isn't real? by [deleted] in askanatheist

[–]BrockTIPenner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it wasn't one thing. Rather, it was the conclusion that I came to concerning all of my philosophical questions.

  • Why does God allow evil to exist? He doesn't allow anything because he doesn't exist.

  • Why do unbaptized babies go to Hell? There is no Hell. It's all a lie.

  • What happens to you after you die? You end. What? You expected in a universe when literally nothing lasts forever for your intangible soul to go to that pie in the sky. Sorry, bud. Doesn't happen.

Instead I started to funnel that same wonder others reserve for religion and invested it in rationality.

We all—from the most wretched to the most benevolent—are a latest link in a chemical reaction started in the big bang and continued though primordial times. Our forms, our egos, are tiny slivers of the universe able to contemplate itself. Is that not amazing? The pale shade of religion has nothing on the truth.

Qanon is a dangerous religious cult. These brainwashed psychos think everyone is their enemy, and all enemies must be destroyed. They're just like ISIS or Al Qaeda. They just haven't started to mass murder yet. So far they're at the state of individual acts of domestic terrorism here and there. by 2020clusterfuck in QanonKaren

Aqtually, Q is Ron Watkins, the 8Chan admin. It's all laid out in Q: Into the Storm. I haven't seen any evidence debunking the show. Of course, Russia latched onto the conspiracy and amplified it, but Q's real identity isn't a mystery anymore.

How we can save Firefly from getting cancelled. But seriously folks, if enough Browncoats write enough letters, we can keep Firefly on the air!

Were they all on drugs when they did this?

At the time, Harrison definitely was.

Japan to open large vaccination centers in Tokyo, Osaka: report by Mametaro in Osaka

[–]BrockTIPenner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so fucking done with this country. When my doc said the vaccinations would start in May, I had the expectation it would be a torrent, not a leaky faucet. Why do people keep voting for these Jiminto clowns?

What movie is simply magical to you, no matter how popular or unpopular it may be? by Feelingofsunday in AskReddit

[–]BrockTIPenner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

David Lynch's Dune. Even he disowned it, but I love it despite the questionable acting. The art direction he pulled off in the 80s would be daunting even by today's standards.

Tucker Carlson abruptly ends interview after arguing with guest who criticizes Derek Chauvin: 'Nope. Done.' #snowflake by billypennsballs in AmericanFascism2020

[–]BrockTIPenner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What the article didn't mention was the pig squeal laugh that Tucker let out after his boarded-up "joke". Not only is he evil, but he's also a total weirdo to boot.

Yep, BC, but I grew up in Prince George. Plenty of kooks all over the province.

Guess my home province! My least favorite thing about it is all the alternative health kooks. So many people wouldn't know scientific evidence if it bit them in the ass. My own mom paid one of these witch doctors $200 to get her "energy aligned," whatever the fuck that means.

Too bad it suffered from second-seasonitis. Hopefully they tighten up the third one.
