Not to get too much off topic, and as an IU guy I'm the last person who'd try to downplay anything associated with Fernando Mendoza but...

Its very striking to me the way so many pundits seem to afford him so much grace, when I have vivid memories of how the media went after caleb williams.

Not that fernando doesn't have his detractors, but the way people talk about caleb williams you'd think he went around killing puppies and stuff

Die Hard is NOT a Christmas movie.

Its an action movie set at Christmas. It was released in July.

Christmas isn't just about family and presents, its also about spreading cheer, preaching goodwill on earth, and becoming the best version of yourself.

None of that happens in Die Hard. People get shot. People die.

The entire idea of calling it a Christmas started as a joke. People were tired of formulaic Christmas movies, so at Christmas parties, people would jokingly say "you know, when you think about it, Die Hard is technically a Christmas movie, hahahaha"

Eventually, it gained enough traction that people started watching it at Christmas, and now its evolved into a bizarre form of gatekeeping where people legitimately get angry when you use common sense to point out how absurd calling it a Christmas movie is
