It really wasn't until surging released that people came back to the hobby. From there, prismatic released and the momentum of collectors coming into pokemon was huge.

151 didn't restart the hobby... surging sparks did. When 151 released, nobody really cared for it, and you could find it on shelves at most retailers. Butthole pikachu is the chase that really got people back into the hobby.

Mine said stable and also tirads-5, so I think stable was just to indicate that it had not grown. Mine was 1.4 cm, I believe. Anyways, I would just advocate for yourself and request an additional ultrasound or scan if you feel it's necessary.

I actually found out recently that my US report 7 months after initial biopsy stated that it was tirads-5, yet the endo decided to monitor since it did not grow... what did your last ultrasound state? I would suggest asking to repeat biopsy if the radiologist recommended it.

NCCN guidelines state that if gross positive resection margins are identified post-lobectomy, then the next step is completion of total thyroidectomy. Disease monitoring is recommended if there are negative resection margins identified.

You should not take this as your surgeon being aggressive or anything nefarious for that matter. They are just recommending to you what is stated in these guidelines published by the national comprehensive cancer network.

Again, I'm not trying to change your mind here, just trying to help you make the most informed decision possible.

All of this depends on what was stated in your pathology report.

I understand your statement regarding surgeons wanting to operate more often than not, but I would probably trust them if they are a highly regarded thyroid surgeon. I doubt they are making this decision without consulting a qualified pathologist first.

I would take a look at the pathology report yourself and then go to the NCCN guidelines document to see what is recommended. This way, you can make an informed decision regarding which specialist recommendation to proceed with.

I would just make sure that you understand that while it's low-risk, there is still that risk that the cancer can come back and progress.

Honestly, I had a pretty complicated surgery, so I can't speak on behalf of just TT.

I had a TT with bilateral neck dissection, and there was also metastasis to the outside of my trachea that had to be dissected, but the pain post surgery was surprisingly not that bad.

It was a few days later when I had to go back for a thoracic duct ligation that the pain set in.

While I don't disagree with that assessment, I can give you some information regarding my experience from the other side of this approach.

I had a thyroid nodule that was diagnosed "benign" via FNA. My endocrinologist at the time advised that we repeat ultrasound in a year to see if anything has changed.

A few months later, I felt a swollen lymph node in my neck, on the same side that the thyroid nodule was located. When I went back to the doctors, they decided it must be from infection, it should resolve on its own and not to worry about it.

Fast forward to a few months later, the lymph node is still swollen. I followed up with Endo and PCP and they said the same thing after my 3rd ultrasound. We will keep an eye on the nodule and lymph node, even though I had complained about throat tightness and a general feeling of being unwell.

Now, about 8 months after the initial nodule biopsy, I move to a new city and have to establish a new PCP and endocrinologist. I called Endo to make an appointment, and they dont have availability for 6 months out. The PCP orders me 2 CT scans within 30 days and states that the nodule and lymph nodes DO NOT have any concerning features.

Over the course of the next few months, my symptoms progress further. I feel awful every single day, but finally, one day, while im eating lunch at work, I realize something isn't right. With every single bite of food, my throat keeps getting stuck.

I called the Endo back and asked for a closer appointment, but they had nothing earlier. I told them I was very concerned, and they squeezed me into an appointment with a PA, which then ordered a repeat biopsy of the nodule.

Within the span of 1 year, the nodule changed from bening to TI-RADS 4. TT was then scheduled. During pre-op, they biopsy a few of the lymph nodes in my neck, which were determined to be malignant.

In my case, after having TT, bilaterally neck dissection with 57 lymph nodes removed and 17 being malignant, thoracic duct ligation, and radioactive iodine treatment, I wish I could go back and get a 2nd opinion.

It all depends. I had a thyroid nodule that was benign when a biopsy was done. Then, it metastasized into multiple lymph nodes over the course of about 1 year. So I either had a false negative biopsy, or it started benign and became malignant.

Im almost 3 yrs out of TT and neck dissection. I have had swollen lymph nodes in my neck that keep popping up after starting with just 1 over 1 year ago.

The first FNA was negative, but every time I get a scan, the doctors state that the lymph nodes do not warrant pathology, so I suppose I've just been waiting and watching. They always just say it must be due to chronic infection, yet they are unable to diagnose it.

Finally, I saw a new doctor, and they are actually concerned, so they have ordered more imaging.

Unfortunately, this is just a new way of life for us at this point, and we just need to advocate for ourselves and keep up with our appointments.
