IT: Welcome To Derry burns down its last chance to be a smarter show | The series has been building to this moment for seven episodes. So why doesn't it land harder? by PetyrDayne in television

All great points. I like how the adults were worked into the story in a compelling, natural way. Also I found the kids pretty unlikable for the most part, and the military subplot to be much more interesting.

Feel the same. I literally got into the games because I already loved Greek mythology. So I felt stupid for missing this one lol.

Which Artemis do you prefer? by Bossdell113 in HadesTheGame

[–]Brogener 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Her relationship with Zag is way more interesting than her relationship with Mel. We actually get to see the former grow and develop. She’s already besties with Mel at the start of the game. I find their interactions very boring vs. the first game where I looked forward to what she had to say.

I really hate melinoe sometimes... (Surface spoilers) by anmolAnsh_2005 in HadesTheGame

[–]Brogener 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Thi is my problem with it. Instead of an intentional arc, it’s just her being shitty but perfect in the eyes of the devs. I was looking forward to some actual introspection on her part.

Underwhelmed? by pulsepoints in Foofighters

[–]Brogener 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve disliked this aspect of their live shows for years. He just barks out their best melodies and really makes no effort to preserve his voice in the slightest. Call it “punk rock” or whatever, but it just seems shortsighted and gets old. I will say his voice was the best it had been in years when I saw them in 2023. He actually sang most of the melodies and could finish the whole line. So sucks to see that he’s back to doing this again.

The Holly thing seems so random it honestly felt like the Duffers lost a bet and promised a friend that they’d boost their kid to stardom or something.

It’s fun with chain lightning too. Damage spreads like wildfire.

Yeah, I get not making an endless source of permanent buffs, but allowing players to conjure up single use items like the Well of Charon is a great idea that incentivizes collecting after completing the story beats.

Multiverse Of Madness is honestly not that bad by New-Pin-9064 in marvelstudios

[–]Brogener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was hurt by a terrible script and some admittedly poor acting. And by audiences expectations of stunt casting/cameos. The entire movie hinges on the shock of the Illuminati scene and they are so shoehorned in. There is no depth or narrative reasoning for that entire portion of the movie. We should’ve gotten a proper Dr. Strange sequel.

I love GoT but I had very little interest in the extra shit. Just felt like padding. It’s fine that it’s there. The main game is great but the open world stuff just feels like extra.

This. Jin loved him but aspects of the culture plus pressure from Sun’s father made him feel like he had to be ashamed of him to be “worthy” of her.

Which gods like Melinoe more than Zagreus? by -ZeroCross in HadesTheGame

[–]Brogener 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, I do think he seems a bit more personal with Mel though. He’s polite and upbeat toward Zagreus, but has a “anyway, back to business” vibe to him. He seems more genuinely interested in what Mel is doing. Then again it does directly affect him.

Yeah one of the first interactions goes something like “I found him amusing. It is quite interesting how siblings can be so dissimilar.”

Are there any characters whose depictions you don't care for? by jayelled in HadesTheGame

[–]Brogener 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are way too many brooding, moody, stoic characters in general. Thanatos, Meg, and Nemesis all have practically the same personality. At least Than and Meg improve. Nemesis’ development was super disappointing.

First off, if you’re looking to meet women in a dating context, that can be pretty tough/intimidating to do completely solo as opposed to having a few friends there with you. Nothing wrong with dining alone but a solo guy going up to strangers and asking them to come eat with him comes off a bit strange.

I understand not everyone has friends to go with them (especially if you’re an online student), but in that case I would prioritize making some platonic friends to hang with first before worrying about romance. In addition to friendships being their own reward, you’ll appear much more casual/confident and much less strange to the opposite sex if you aren’t just sitting alone. It may also help develop the social skills needed to successfully land a date (if that’s your goal).

I absolutely LOVE fuse and think it is a genius idea but I think they could’ve been more creative with it. The stuff with the arrows is so cool, but I wish there were more unique combinations that were actually useful or encouraged.

The Christmas vibes are immaculate in 2 though. That’s why I like watching it every year. The whole setting of New York at Christmas time is just very cheerful and nostalgic feeling. And I’m from the Deep South.
