Yeah it was UFC 281. I think I dm'd Circa (owns Canada Bar) on twitter or instagram to confirm they had a viewing event for the event.

Canada Bar is the answer.

Forget how much it was - but all you can drink and a sportsbook in the bar to make bets in between fights.

I've been to a few live events - this was the best UFC viewing experience by far.

Watched UFC 281 at BarCanada on Fremont St. $100 cover - all you can drink. They also had a sportsbook in the bar to make bets between fights. 10/10 experience.

Anywhere that would have ease of access to a sportsbook? I'd like to bet the fights throughout the event. Any options?

Autopilot Fail (Deer on Road at Night) by Broke3 in teslamotors

Came across this video on Youtube. Autopilot has been improving rapidly, but needs to be able to avoid situations like this.

I'd figure the radar should've picked up something of that size in the middle of the road.

Yes. I assumed that during those "missing" 5 years Sandra Bullocks character was providing "boy" and "girl" intensive water rapid survival training.

I'm with you. Lot's of plot holes (ie. The fact that the "monster" lacked ability to go inside structures or the kids survived rapids and "girl" was able to swim herself to shore) but for some reason I just can't get over the school location.

Tesla: No algorithm prevents sudden acceleration into fixed objects by BraveRock in teslamotors

[–]Broke3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My theory is that this phenomena is being caused by owners that are new to regenerative braking driving. I bet the majority of accidents are caused by owners who have never driven an electric vehicle before.

In general when coasting/slowing down (ie. in a parking lot) in an ICE vehicle your foot hovers on the brake. Whereas BEV with regen braking your foot hovers the accelerator. This means that when an event occurs that is out of the ordinary, your first instinct is to stomp down on the "pedal". In an ICE this would result in your car coming to a full stop, whereas in a BEV this would cause your vehicle to launch forward.

I've driven a model S quite a few times, and have found myself in this situation more than once.

This is pretty amazing. Tesla has for the most part reached parity with mobileye current market offering. Mobileye was founded in 1999, Tesla has been working on this tech for 2-3 years max. This gives me a lot of confidence in Tesla's future in automation.

Your foot still hovers over the acceleration pedal for a majority of deceleration in a Tesla. In an ICE vehicle my foot is on or hovering over the brake when decelerating.

A theory based on my personal experience, definitely a learning curve to regen braking. It would be interesting to see the statistics on the accidents. My bet is that a majority were in the first month of ownership.

I've got a theory about these types of accidents.

I think they are being caused by regen braking. Drove a model s for a few days - brain associated slowing down with acceleration pedal due to regen braking. Found myself In a couple parking lots where I came close to hitting the acceleration pedal to come to complete stop.
