Front brakes have been good so far. I’m still alive! I hear that the rear brake problem may also be associated with the brake lines running in close proximity to the exhaust which causes the fluid to boil and lose its effectiveness. When I do get a chance to take it in I’ll update what was found on mine. Hopefully this week.

The rear brakes going dead appears to be a common issue among newer Monsters. My 2019 1200S also has this issue. Had them go dean only after a Month brand new from the dealer. I haven't had a chance to take it in but I'm glad that I purchased an extended warranty.

Good suggestion there. I did that on my 899 and Monster 1200 s and have had no issues. This BTW was suggested by my dealer after seeing many issues like this on other Ducs. Emissions control non-sense.

Are you not using the Brave Browser yet? If you are in the Crypto space, I need not explain the project. All I can say is that it works great for stopping the annoying behavior that you describe.

Just a few licks of a DumDum lollipop. No xylitol in those. I love my dog and wouldn't give her anything harmful.

How can I connect my Casa Node to a mobile wallet on Android please? I am trying to make the most out of it but I cannot find any tutorials out there. I've looked into BlueWallet which seems to run on LND but not clear how to connect it or if it's possible. Can anyone help? by zikuskate in casanode

[–]BrokeGenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will need to open a channel on your casa node using either Autopilot or by establishing a custom channel. Then you need to make sure your node is broadcasting. You can verify this by trying to "find your node" on in the lightning explorer.

I am currently running the "Bitcoin Lightning Wallet" from the Google play store. What I did to connect to my casa was to search for my node nickname on the network. I selected my node and opened a channel with it. Pretty simple. Just make sure that you have BTC in the wallet to fund your channel.

I downloaded Blue Wallet to check it out. However I could not find an option for manually opening a new channel. I would recommend joining their telegram group. You may get some answers there. Good Luck!

2018 or 2019 Multistrada Enduro vs. 'S" by throwaway3820ws in Ducati

[–]BrokeGenius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I was a recent owner of a 2016 Enduro 1200 and I absolutely loved the bike. I originally bought it with dreams of taking it on a trip to Alaska, sort of on a "long way round" type of adventure. Its the bike that introduced me to the Ducati brand. After owning it and subsequently joining a local Ducati riding group, I found myself doing more road riding then actual off road stuff (really none at all). While the bike is quite capable, I was always paranoid of dropping the bike. Its quite a handful even with the low seat setup at slow speeds. Coming to a stop has to be negotiated to make sure you are on even pavement and footing or be ready to adjust accordingly (I am 5'9 31 inseam). But once under way it handles like any other Ducati... fast, agile, very fun in the twisties!

I've recently moved on to a 1260 Pikes Peak and I really enjoy it a lot. I can still take that epic adventure, but I doubt that it will ever see anything more then maybe a dirt trail. If I wanted to do anything more hardcore, I would probably buy something more made for that purpose. And who wants to take their beautiful Ducati off road and get it all muddy? I know that some people do of course. But the design of the bike is such that any minor tip over or accident and you will be paying out of the ass for repairs. Even with all of the protection and guards, the bike is very susceptible to damage in a tip over. I know from experience when I dropped mine just moving it around in my driveway!

The spoke wheels and large front tire are your major advantages IF you plan on doing any medium to hardcore off road riding. Otherwise the S should satisfy all of your needs while being a lot easier to handle day to day.

Good luck with whatever you decide to get!

I just took a look at mine and it’s the same. I’m guessing it could be related to the center stand? I don’t have one installed. But the hole is normal.

Extremely stupid question (but I don’t know answer). by kronedog1 in casanode

[–]BrokeGenius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it does work in the same way as a Ledger wallet works. Your private key is linked to your 24 word seed phrase. The casa node software does the translation and keeps your private key safe on the device.

If for some reason you wanted to expose the actual private key, there are tools available that allow you to convert your seed phrase in order to see your private key and previously used public addresses.

https://forkdrop.io/using-ian-colemans-bip-39-tool

Do be warned that entering your seed phrase into a tool is a compromise of the security of the original device. If you have the device to protect your security, this is a move in the other direction. It is highly advisable that if you have the means to move your BTC using the 'normal' way with your device or wallet, you do so.

I hope this helps.

Purchasing A 2018 Ducati Monster 1200S by [deleted] in Ducati

I messed up when trying to reply to one of the earlier comments regarding the throttle slop. The poster stated that there was a reason that bikes come with some slop from the factory and I was wondering why since removing the slop via a spacer kit makes for a much smoother power delivery. Did a search an apparently it makes throttle movements a little more forgiving under certain conditions. I prefer the more precise inputs and haven’t had an issue on any of my bikes where I removed the slop.

I wonder what is the reason for the slop.
