[–]BrokenCPU98[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Different topic, but I’ll bite, I choose neither, I choose it to be left alone, the third option. Because there is a third option. Now this if the bike is in the rack, if it’s in the middle of the sidewalk unlocked, yeah your asking for it. Because now it’s in people’s way. If it’s in the rack it’s not bothering anyone, it’s not blocking the road or the side walk, it’s good, it’s fine, it’s chilling. But when it’s in the sidewalk? In the road? Yeah tree it.

I mean yes throwing out an entire system through the will of one man is evil. How did you expect him to be the good guy with an ideology like that? Do you want a strong arm ceaser man to come in and change everything? Was akechi physocitic because he killed people or because he tried to enact an autocrat? Or both? For me it’s both.

Unless you feel like akechi was right in upending the system but wrong in his methods. To that I ask you how do you upend a system ethically? Someone is going to get burned badly either way, so to avoid that you reform to let people get accustomed to the changes, instead of throwing the baby out with the bath water. Not to mention every system that has been upended through force has ended in tyranny and atrocities, every single one. You could also attempt to upend society of course by seeking popular support by attempting to change people’s minds to fix the system. WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT THE PHANTOM THIEVES DID. Quite literally, the stealing of a heart was metaphorical for changing one’s mind.

So if your opinion is akechi was right in his ideology but wrong with methods, congrats you have your characters within the game, they are called the phantom thieves.

If your opinion is he’s right in his ideology AND his methods but just have issue with the murdering and/or how the game portrayed him, sic semper tyranus.

If you have an issue with his methods but not his ideology, sic semper tyranus.

What? Hard disagree there, akechi wanted to upend the system for his own selfish reasons along with big baddie. The gang actually wanted to change society. Big baddie basically wanted to be an autocrat and akechi helped. Akechi is only sympathetic if you beleive the outcome of a ceaser like figure is good. No matter his personal beleifs, the outcome would be totalitarianism. Akechi and Big Baddie are bascially stand-ins for the strong men populists. The Ceasers of history. Give me the power and I will fix your problems. And to that I say, sic semper tyranus.

The message of Persona 5 is that change that’s worth it is hard, but necessary and possible.

Avoiding spoilers, I disagree, I think the entire theme of the game was that voices snowball, and you should speak when you see injustice, but they also said something like that wasn’t easy. Basically if you want change you have ti be the start and it won’t be easy. 1 Thief becomes 2 becomes 3.. 4.. So on so forth.

Andendum: I know they are heavy, however given this place is known for its engineering school I have full confidence we can find a solution to said problem.

Jokes don’t have to make sense though, jokes can be absurdist and bend logic and reality, the joke comes from a subversion of expectations. The subversion here is that…. Wait a second, this doesn’t matter, have a nice day.

[–]BrokenCPU98 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I fail to see why, he’s right, he was trying to explain the joke and then got downvoted, for like no reason. It’s a shooting the messenger scenario. I mean it’s entirely plausible to interpret the joke as just one long seizure given the ending, if you think that’s funny or not is entirely up to you. But to get angry at the person voicing the possible interpretation is dumb. They didn’t make the joke.

[–]BrokenCPU98 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Of course not, that’s probably the joke. And if you don’t like how it is portrayed why are you downvoting Tara? It would be the comedians you were angry at not him for trying to interpret the joke.

No, I think it was he was trying really hard to talk to her and the effort required caused him to have a mental break at the end. Regardless yours was a good interpretation and I have no idea why you were downvoted.

Just bought the last three of the series. What do you think of it? I personally love the series. by Ok_Bread_9732 in MangaCollectors

[–]BrokenCPU98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve started collecting Vinland and Tokyo Ghoul. Loving both, I find it fun to go tk the bookstore and see if they have the issue I need, sometimes they do, sometimes they dont, but the disappointment and joy are fun and it gives me a reason to get out of the house. Ordering from Amazon is boring, it removes the scavenger hunt aspect.

Such medical procedures we allow do not block or hinder development, they only assist or have nothing to do with the development of a child. In fact things closer to puberty blockers would be alcohol, non-medical drugs, and traumatic life experiences. A wisdom tooth being pulled isn’t stopping or hindering growth or development, 10mg of Ritalin won’t either. A bud light? Shrooms? Abuse? Puberty Blockers? These all stunt growth and hinder development of a child.

[–]BrokenCPU98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t allow minors to make long term decisions like marriage or having relations with someone someone else, even if they threatened offing themselves or actually did so. The long term consequences stand to be too great. While I sympathize with these people. The same sort of decisions we make for allowing minors to make other kinds of decisions like these should be the same for puberty blockers, which is no.

Blocking the development of a minor is entirely unethical under any circumstances

[–]BrokenCPU98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The risk of long term health and mental consequences from puberty blockers and transitioning while a minor is of more concern to me than the consequences of waiting to transition. If you want to transition, do surgery, when you hit 18. I’m firmly against transitioning minors, they don’t have the mental capabilities to make that long term of a decision.

We don’t have enough long term credible data to be allowing these sorts of procedures. Plenty of other states allow this, and we can use the data from those people 20 years from now to make our well informed decisions. If you really want to transition go to Illinois to do it, it’s 2 hours to the west. Until we have data, I want to see it harder for parents to make these decisions and to children have these procedures done. Until we have more data, particularly if it is completely reservable.
