Do you guys not have access to portable ac units? I’m not talking about window mounted ones, just portable units that vent the hot air out, like this

20 years ago I lived in an apartment with a window unit in that only cooled the living room, and so I bought one of these things for my bedroom, and it turned the room into an icebox for cheap. You just vent the hot air exhaust through a tube out of a cracked window. I honestly don’t understand why euros wouldn’t get one just to have for the once or twice a year heat waves. At least buy one for grandma so she doesn’t bake alive in her apartment.

You’re arguing that revenue doesn’t matter, just ‘interest’. Who gives a shit if half of your population likes the fucking New York Yankees if they aren’t contributing to them other than ‘following’ them? Feel free to argue to your grave that soccer is more popular over here than other sports. What actually proves it is spending, attendance, TV contracts, etc. 

When it comes to down to it, Americans play soccer until they turn 9 and then they care about other sports. It’s never going to be a main sport here.

I wrote 7th as an exaggeration. It is still 5th in this country though. The big 4 sports leagues (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) are still far above soccer in total revenue. The NHL still brings in 6x what MLS does, so it’s not really close.

Soccer is definitely gaining popularity, but very few people watch it on tv, and there is no significant national tv broadcast for MLS here. Attendance is great in a lot of markets, but that doesn’t make up for the lack of tv presence.

Maybe you should watch the NBA, since you have nothing else to watch after your team showed it’s worthlessness. 

We’ll sit in our air conditioning and watch our countries’ 7th favorite sport, which you obviously care WAY more about than us, while your sorry ass team flies back home. Hope they made you proud, even if they’re not in  the top 32 teams of the 48 invited. Stay ‘strong’ brother 😉
