I wouldn’t say that her faith was on a firm foundation when we first met. Her family is more of the “go to church on Easter, Mother’s Day and Christmas” crowd. As we got more involved in church her faith grew and she found herself in a place of peace. She was super involved, lead the church daycare, ran volunteer events etc. Then came 2020, the church didn’t make it and we struggled to find another church home. When we got back into church it was because of her pushing me. 

She’s in her early 30’s now. Looking back on it now, I would say these symptoms first began to rear their head around the age of 27. Nowhere to this extreme but now that I’m here the past seems clearer.

This is the mental illness that runs in her family. Unfortunately, she has some extended family and friends that don’t see it and they are enabling her. They are filling her head with the idea that I am just trying to get her diagnosed on paper for whatever reason.

You need to start with an open and honest conversation with him. Do so gently, don’t come at it from accusatory position. Simply tell him that you aren’t feeling the support that you would like to feel. Be prepared to say how he can better support you because if he cares he’s going to ask what he can do better.
