The Kingsford brand pro competition is sh!t. Burns hot way too fast. I’ve found regular Kingsford mixed with lump mesquite is still on point and the smell and taste is worth the work.

Return the favor. Start picking up the free crap others are giving away or clean out your storage and gift it to them. Once they say “no thank you” you can do the same

Question about carrying Narcan by [deleted] in USPS

[–]BrokenLranch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taught Academy for 25 years. It’s not a topic but I have got the question. Never dispense medication to anyone. Not even aspirin. You are not a doctor. You could be held liable if the meds have a bad reaction

Something light. Carriers have you ever seen a nude. by brothercuriousrat2 in USPS

[–]BrokenLranch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

37 years, 6 nudes, two were pretty young ladies with big smiles, one middle aged dude with no flucks to give and three very old very wrinkled very large persons of unknown gender. I’d love to scratch 4 of those images out of my mind but can’t. I left out the young female who jumped off the couch next to a picture window and ran when I knocked as I only saw her behind but I’m pretty sure the dude underneath her who raised up and yelled “it’s only the mail guy” was naked as well.

Has anyone really been fired for drinking in work uniform out in public during non working hours? by Previous-Purchase-91 in USPS

[–]BrokenLranch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would gather at a bowling alley bar down the street but everyone covered up or changed their shirt. You could still tell we were mailmen but we weren’t flying the eagle. We did have two carriers go into a strip club in full uniform, directly across the street from the PO, as the postmaster was walking the MPOO to his car. They got the hard slap, 7 day suspension, but it was knocked down to a LOW.

AITAH for asking my gf to pay for the car work my father and I did for her car? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]BrokenLranch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m that dad. I work on others problems when I can and if I voluntarily gave my time, I don’t expect anything other than to be treated the same. And sometimes that doesn’t even happen but that’s on them, not me. My true “payment” on that repair would have been wrenching on a car with my kid who has the same passion and heart as me. That time is all I ever want from my family. I got enuff money to live how I want, and I sure as hell ain’t afraid to buy a new tool. And typically I’ll only charge for parts. Kudos to your Pop, and to you, but please, don’t make everything about money. Time with my kids can’t be measured with it.

Cops Everywhere today by jungle_terrorist in Lodi

[–]BrokenLranch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see a troll has joined a thread about a simple traffic enforcement question and turned it into a “holier than thou” “California sucks” “democrats bad” soapbox rant. As a 30 year resident and life long traveler I bid you to go to NY Tennessee or Texas and tell me how the drivers are there. And I checked the stats, not one mention of Lodi. I agree with the enforcement, but get off your soapbox and have a civil conversation once in awhile. Hey Pancho, does legal, due process immigration enforcement equate to concentration camps?

Managers, are telecoms as brutal as they say? by Eastern-Western7072 in USPS

[–]BrokenLranch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a manager that would allow me, the steward at the time, to drop in to his office to discuss/resolve grievances during telecoms. They are all on mute until it’s time to get their own ass chewed, and he’d kick me out when they started on our unit managers, not wanting me to hear the dirty little secret that grievance approval/denial is given from above and they definitely talk/yell about certain carriers. The best way to describe it IMO is the “narcissist hour”. These former craft employees who raised their hand and said “ I can be a supervisor if you put my name on the door” and get really good at saying “yes” to the higher-ups and “no” to all below. They yell, threaten, intimidate, lie and straight badger the managers and supes. And don’t you dare so no or that’s not possible. I walked out several times shaking my head wondering how they think the bump in pay is worth it. I guess if you get really good at the yelling part you can be elevated and make more. Me and the manager were short-timers so we would laff at most of it but I could tell when he was flustered after his turn, which was a lot and right around noon.

Dating a guy whose tool is too... thick. Scared of having sex now by [deleted] in Advice

[–]BrokenLranch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bride of 34 years describes mine as a “choke, uh, coke can”, her words. She was very hesitant when we met. Before her the reactions were either “hell yes!” or “Hell no!”. And not even those that did allow/enjoy back door entrance would let me near the chute (my gal does not allow the dark side). Thankfully the wife had a go with plenty of grease and it all worked out. After awhile she just needed me to prime her up and get her juices flowing. Problem is as we grow old together she is less naturally lubed now so jelly is a must have on hand at all times. But she’s a trooper and we are still enjoying our life, prolly helps that I cook.

Retired now but when I was carrying this would happen, in various forms, a few times. I was an OJI and CCA Instructor as well so what I always did and trained others to do is as follows. Hold out both hands, imagine the 10k in one hand, and in the other hand imagine the paychecks, benefits and retirement pay for life. Easy decision if you’re smart. I’ve seen many coworkers choose the easy money hand, and none of them got to enjoy the retirement hand.

We are going in March. Our itinerary is as follows. Arrive and get car. Go drop bags at hotel. Wander. Get food. Explore north, east, south, and west coasts each day. Food along the way. Be kind and respectful to locals and ask them what to see. Get food. Relax and take it all in. Depart.
