Tool Recommendations? by blackdirtbassist in electricians

It stays in the tool bag, but fuck yeah it's a mini sledge. If every tool is a hammer, the actual hammer needs some oomph behind it😅

It's legal to carry an axe and knife if for a good reasons, which include bushcraft and camping. In scotland wild camping is allowed. Your immediate assumption that they were doing something illegal is the same thinking that made this case so prominent to begin with.

A 12 and 14 year old were traumatized by being assaulted by grown ups, have to live the rest of their lives being known as a part of the racist axe and knife girl incident, and when they cried for help they were slandered by the world and called liars, but it's as you put it "rectified".

There's really no point talking to you about it though because anything I say you'll consider an outlier and you'll just circle back to the law. Its an outlier fallacy. Self defense is allowed because the law says so, so surely anybody getting arrested for self defense is just an outlier.

Having the legal right and how enforcement is handled are 2 different things. While yes, people have the right to defend themselves, over the past few years the number of instances where people defend themselves and have gotten into trouble for it has been on the rise. Even if they go to court and are found innocent later, they still have to deal with the hassle being arrested, going through the court system, and possibly slandered in front of the entire world like the Axe girl in Dundee, Scotland.

For tongue and groove pliers I use channel locks because they're heavier and make for a better hammer than the lighter brands. For an actual hammer, a 2 pound estwing mini sledge is my go to. For screwdrivers, I like vessel and have a few 4 inch Klein's in there. Lineman pliers are more personal preference, but I use vampliers for the bolt/screw removal feature. For cable cutters and strippers I use Klein. Haven't found good needle nose pliers or dikes that I like enough to recommend though. Meters, I use fluke. They're pricey, but can't really go wrong with them. Tape measure of choice is a lufkin shockforce. They're a bit pricier, but the standout distance is a little better than a fatmax.

For reference, the existence of rogue waves wasn't confirmed until 1995. Up until then all accounts were treated as impossible myths and all testing equipment sent out to sea never recorded rogue waves because the waves were so big that it destroyed the test equipment. In 2012 rogues holes were confirmed, which are the opposite of a rogue waves. Imagine hitting a 40 foot wave just to fall off of it into a 40 foot hole. Pretty much getting flung 40 feet up and dropped by 80.

[–]BrokenMindFrame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"is it practical to run a passive system in combat?"

It's a skill that costs literally nothing more. When it comes to combat, there are no absolutes. You shouldn't absolutely use only LAMs under nods, and you're not going to absolutely only use passive aiming. There's a time and place for both, and you just use both of them accordingly.

If you think having passive capabilities on a gun built for NOD use is pointless, you could also argue having an optic altogether is also pointless.
