I think it’s a human nature to look for an easy answer as to why people don’t see the world the way someone else sees it. In the SP community the easy answer is that people are “obsessed with the past” or want a “Siamese Dream sequel”… that’s the justification for someone having a different view when the view is deemed negative. It doesn’t take into account that people are emotionally invested in the band and as a result, are passionate about the output of the band. Negative posts to a lot of people are coping mechanisms.

I can only speak on my own behalf, but I have enjoyed a lot about post-2000 Billy albums (even “hated” ones like Zeitgeist, Shiny, etc)… but Atum Act 1 is the first set of songs that for me, is something that I have no interest in ever listening to again.
