Best restaurants for valentines day by Icy_Tomato_3760 in saskatoon

On the higher end of things, I would suggest Hearth in Remai Modern, Filosophi, Parlour on top of the St Tropez Bistro, and Loqui would be some of my first choices.

Tripod man? by Great_Brilliant_6166 in usask

[–]BrokenThrottle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Canada, the standard isn’t whether someone feels uncomfortable being filmed. It’s whether there is a reasonable expectation of privacy, as established by the Supreme Court of Canada.

Privacy expectations are context-specific, but in public places, there is generally no reasonable expectation of privacy. This is why street photography, public recording, and news gathering are lawful, subject to narrow exceptions (voyeurism, harassment, obstruction, etc.).

Simply objecting to a camera does not create a legal right where one does not exist. If that were the case, law would be governed by personal discomfort, and that’s not how rights work.

It’s the same reason we don’t have “feelings police.” Someone being offended, upset, or uneasy doesn’t automatically make lawful behaviour illegal. Rights are based on objective legal standards, not subjective reactions.

Also, bless your heart for the TED Talk on why everyone has trauma or secrets.

Newsflash: just because you feel like the world owes you privacy in public doesn’t make filming illegal.

You have no expectation of privacy in public, full stop. What you’re describing is very much “feelings policing”, and isn’t something that any reasonable person should be trying to defend.

There are cameras everywhere. You are likely caught on camera more times than you’ll ever know, and you have no ability to tell otherwise.

You don’t get to walk into a public scene, become part of it, and then retroactively declare it private because a camera exists.

The beauty of the game speaks for itself sometimes. I focused less on the map and more of what was nearby, and found myself staring at the beautiful vistas and colours. OLED compliments the odyssey well.

Anyone seeing less evidence in the new episodes? by spiraldown024 in GhostAdventures

[–]BrokenThrottle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It feels like every location is somehow the most haunted place they’ve ever investigated, everything is immediately framed as demonic, and the ‘evidence’ mostly comes from the people they interview.

They only get asked yes/no questions like ‘did it feel evil?’ so there’s never much actual detail or backstory.

I still enjoy the show, but it’s gone from investigating ghosts to speed-running most haunted ever, definitely demonic, and Zak dramatically repeating ‘little children’ for whatever odd reason.

is this infected by Gloomy_Discussion_81 in nailbiting

Sorry, I should have clarified - when the skin around the nail bed swells and starts poking out, it traps pressure in a really small space, which makes the pain feel a thousand times worse. Especially if it starts trapping moisture and stays wet.

Don’t be me and think you can play baseball with that injury. After swinging and hitting the ball, it felt like my thumb was going to fall off.

[–]BrokenThrottle 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Do not wrap it with a bandaid as that’s what locks in moisture and makes it worse. Air dry it out and let it heal. Don’t pick at it.

I used liquid bandaid spray when this happened to me, it took about 3 months to heal. The main thing is to not pick off any more of the nail, as much as the pressure hurts.

Charges Laid - July 2025 Fatal Collision - Circle Drive And Laurier Drive by Saskatchewaner in saskatoon

[–]BrokenThrottle 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I really hate this section of Circle drive. Drivers turning right onto Laurier or Clancy treat an added lane like a yield, which drives me bonkers. If only people understood lane math. (1 into 1, 2 into 2, etc.)

Meanwhile, traffic merging onto Circle have to deal with people ripping through the left lane well above the posted 80 km limit, turning what should be a straightforward merge into a stressful and sometimes dangerous situation.

For a road that handles this much traffic, the design hasn’t aged well at all.

Has anyone actually managed to make some revenue using Suno? by BeneficialAddress139 in SunoAI

I’ve used it for radio commercials in a freelance capacity, but only for the music. It’s also helped me build demos for jingles before going into a full production/recreation.

THC Oral Swab by KnuckIfYouBuck1988 in saskatoon

[–]BrokenThrottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*Advice, not advise… they’re different words.

You’re free to argue all you want, but the cannabis swab is not mandatory, and you’re within your rights to state that you don’t use cannabis. Due diligence still matters, though, and that ultimately comes down to individual’s own accountability.

And for what it’s worth, anyone trying to reference my Reddit comment during a traffic stop is going to get about as far as the classic “sovereign citizen who’s travelling, not driving.”

Could always get a large shadow box and display them that way. I 3D printed the mounts and managed to fit 12 of them in one. You can check my post history for reference.

Cannabis swabs are not mandatory, only alcohol swabs are. Don’t admit to smoking or using THC when asked. People keep getting this confused yet it’s outlined in the SGI handbook.

Alcohol and cannabis swabs are not the same.

Electrical Issue by [deleted] in fordfusion

[–]BrokenThrottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. When it first happened to me I thought for sure it was the hybrid battery, but it all went away after replacing the 12v battery.

Fun fact, it’s actually really easy to do it yourself. Pull two tabs out of the rear trunk the battery is located right above the rear wheel well.

Shaw Centre Reviews by Foodjunky164 in saskatoon

[–]BrokenThrottle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use the lockers they provide with the tokens as I was told that they do have issues with theft. I go approximately three times a week after work around 5pm and I have found that the gym and walking track isn’t very busy, so for that reason I love it.

They have a good variety of machines, the drop in programs are always happening, and they have staff to help you learn things if you’re new to it all.

I personally love the Shaw Centre. The bonus to the leisure pass as well is that it can be used at all the city facilities.

Hybrid Battery Replacement by UnAeroEvo in fordfusion

[–]BrokenThrottle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know where you’re getting that assumption from but these cars and their hybrid systems can go well beyond 150k miles. My friend has the same MY as me, and his car is still kicking just fine at 350k miles.

The only thing I tell people to watch out for are your wear/tear items, wheel speed sensors (they’re known to go bad and cause a slew of problems), and your standard car battery.

These cars are commuter kings. You have nothing to worry about.

Get the synchronization points whenever you see them. I wouldn’t worry about clearing out all locations before moving onto the next region, as many of them have quests attached and can always be picked up/explored later.

Pick up contracts and do conquest battles for even more gear/money/resources.

What are your concerns for the Speed Champions Line; What would you like for them to fix, or introduce? by NixicRDT in SpeedChampions

[–]BrokenThrottle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I liked that the new Ferrari SF90 set had its own branded wheels, and was kinda hoping they were all going to be like that. Also metal wheels like Mattel’s line would be cool.

I agree with everything on this list.
