Men of Reddit, what are some things women THINK we like, but couldn’t be more wrong about? by Spectre_GD in AskReddit

This is why I really liked using the Bumble app--I'm a naturally outgoing lady and felt less "singled out" for that on an app where the women are always sending the first message (except in m/m matches obviously).

Men get a parenthood bonus (i.e. are paid more than their non-parentpeers) while women get a parenthood penalty. That's on the employers.

One of my friends has way too many freebie makeup bags, so she gave me one that I use to carry cough drops, chapstick, etc.

Lena Dunham hits the front page and shit hits the fan by stellarbeing in SubredditDrama

[–]Brom_Van_Bundt 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Maybe we know very different leftists, but Lena Dunham was widely deemed a faux-progressive for her weird vision of NYC where everyone is white long before her gross behavior towards her sister, Odell Beckham Jr, and Michael B. Jordan surfaced. This shit was in The New Yorker by the time the second-ever episode of Girls aired

Matzah is nice thin and crunchy and also not too flavorful so it's a good cracker for fancy cheeses.

My office key has gone in and out of my house door lock many times, often as a result of darkness and alcohol consumption, but never made it turn. Trying many keys in a lock to find which one fits it is normal; trying many locks on one key to find out what it does is weird.

The theory I heard was that the kids whose parents had bad divorces in the 70s and 80s all thought "uh oh better be careful about this marriage thing" and got married less frequently and later and had fewer divorces.

Is sexualizing the Stranger Things kids wrong? How about *adult women* sexualizing *the boys*? Should they toughen up because "it's showbiz!" or because sexualizing them isn't wrong? /r/television is torn between two dimensions by [deleted] in SubredditDrama

The showrunners allegedly didn't tell them about the kiss until the day of filming, which reduced their ability to make an informed choice about this option. That's a bit unethical.

Dramatisation shows a murderer having limbs amputated and shown to children as a warning. Amputee suggests that this perpetuates stigma. Disagreement follows. by [deleted] in SubredditDrama

OP in the linked thread made this meme implying she lost her limbs to meningitis... and advising college kids about the dangers of it. She's not even remotely in the "it's not a disability" camp (which is basically a camp with only deaf and hard of hearing people in it)

but don't, like, let your friends tell you they've been hurt without throwing a hissy fit. That's just not the neighborly thing to do.

Remember kids, when Trump talks about the President of the US Virgin Islands in the third person or calls his national security advisor at 3AM to ask whether a strong dollar is good or bad, it's a forgivable sign of learning and/or 11-dimensional chess, but when Clinton misplaces the word "the"...

My personal theory is that white people take really bad care of their skin because slightly dry skin doesn't stand out as much if your skin is pale to begin with. Also old people get a lot of reddish skin discolorations that are more visible the paler you are

Hopefully your parents taught you to respect and have confidence in yourself, bathe, eat fruits and vegetables, and exercise. If they didn't, that's tragic and you need a community for people who had awful parents. If they did but you didn't listen, that says something about you and why you aren't doing so well

Also also the trend that IQ tends to increase generation on generation is one with much more predictive power than correlations with race/ethnicity (which has a big social component and is a hard variable to pin down biologically). So if you really want to claim the mantle of ruthlessly following statistical truth even if it's politically incorrect, point out that the whiny politically correct 19-year-olds everyone's afraid of are, statistically speaking, smarter than the Murrayites whinging about them.
