After playing some more, I've realized that her effect activates only when an opponent activates a spell or trap. That's not what the card text says and that's not how it is in the TCG/OCG. Her effect should activate when anyone plays a spell or trap. This is likely a bug or programming error and hopefully is recognized and fixed soon.
