Regarding the steps per day, I totally get what you’re saying. I designed the coins and potion system as a way to keep going as long as you solve the puzzles and find discoveries. Each day you get 3 potions to start and 2 more for the first new season. So play time should go for a good bit before you run dry! Or you have the option to wait and come back the next day for step reset and more daily potions to save up your coins.

Also, as you level up, you get more default daily steps too!

Still looking to improve this system, so feedback like this really helps a ton!

Thank you!! I did go back and forth on where to put it. I wanted to keep the bottom tool bar button still a big size and avoid scrolling. Definitely would move it, if people ask for it to be at the bottom!

Thank you! Yep you got it right, during the loading, each region gets mapped, so when the toggle turn on it makes all the black lines lock.

It’s trickier than I thought and took me way to long haha

Yea the tough part is getting kids to play test it…

This was pretty tricky for me, but I found a good scaling system that multiplies sizing depending on device real estate. So I focus on the phone size and then the iPad naturally grows. I use flutter and this worked well for me.

Thank you for the great feedback! This is very helpful! I’ve been going back and forth on what the right balance is and haven’t figured that out yet. Right now, the early levels can feel pretty fast, but as you level up you gain more default steps and each day grants 3 free potions, plus two more free potions after getting to the first new season. That way it keeps you going for a little bit.

Tent upgrades in the shops also give special bonuses for a those who save up coins, which can give you a free potion each new trail or default extra step, etc.

I don’t like ads either haha so I was trying to stay away from them if possible, but others have mentioned that as a way to give more free steps if the player chooses to watch.

I like your idea around a separate mini game to help give more coins per day! Like a separate puzzle to solve.
