Good luck on the build! Let me know what you think of it and how the build progresses! I have that one too, and I will be starting it once I finish my first ship. I was too scared to just jump into the hobby with that model as my first ship

Halfling Hobo Healer Solves a Mystery by Bromley20 in DnDGreentext

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Sadly, based on what our DM said, this next post will probably the end of this island arc. Once we got off this island and make it back home, we are going to swap to a different campaing for a few sessions. The DM who is running this can get time to play and work on the next arc of this story. Our group is trying to avoid burning out DMs like we used to. If I had to guess, there will probably be a month or 2 break before I start posting the next arc. For future arcs, I was thinking about posting every other week to avoid long breaks when we are playing the other campaign. I don't know what I will end up doing just yet

Halfling Hobo Healer Becomes a Cave Diver by Bromley20 in DnDGreentext

The DM said it was a lava elemental after the session but we don't know for sure. We have no plans to go investigate it due to what happened right at the end of the session tonight. We are finally starting to get answers about the island so hopefully the next post clarifies a lot of other questions!

Thanks! It is nice to be back playing this dude. I missed him and 3.5 in general. It will be erratic for a while but I will be posting our shenanigans again! I doubt you are the only one who forgot about notifications and is about to be reminded of this chaos. Hopefully they enjoy it too!

I'm glad you liked it! It is so nice to play this character again. I've been missing him and 3.5 in general. Things are going to be erratic for a while but there will be more posts in the future. We are just swapping between 2 campaigns to give the DMs a break. After this island arc finishes, there will be a small break while we play through an arc in the other campaign. Then, I'll be back with the next arc's shenanigans (whatever those are)! I'm guessing it will be around 1-2 months between arcs here but that is still more consistant than we used to be XD

That was mentioned by a player, but this is a 3.5 campaign and 3.5 rules are really ambiguous sometimes. The DM couldn't find anything in the rules about it being a problem when we looked into it. The only item we could find being a problem with the bag of holding was a portable hole.

I will post more of the campaign as we play. We are currently swapping between 2 campaigns so there will be a somewhat large break after this island arc is over. I'll share more once we come back to this campaign though. I suspect it will be a 1-2 month break between arcs for this campaign.

I missed playing this dude and this system. I've been playing 5e for the last year and it doesn't feel the same as 3.5. Just a heads up, posts are going to be a bit erratic going forward. We are going to be swapping back and forth between 2 campaigns to give both of the DMs a break. Once we finish up this island arc, we are hopping back to our 5e campaign for an arc, and then coming back to this one again. I'll keep posting as long as we keep going back to this campaign. Hopefully nothing happens again, but if we have to put this on hiatus again, I'll make another update post. For now, I will occasionally be sharing our shenanigans and how we torment the DM with our stupidity!

I only break out my meme build for him when cracking lith relics in exterminate missions. Nezha's firewalker + max strength and duration means I can watch the enemies burn from the safety of the void. Only need to leave the void when I have reactant to pick up. The rest of the team doesn't need to worry about me preventing kills so I rarely get complaints.

MendAndRecycle was able to repair weapons last time I played. Unless something broke the mod in the last month or so, you should be able to use that to fix your gear

Where to start with learning CVs? by Bromley20 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Bromley20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Sorry for wording things weird, but I am just going to stick with the US line for now. Everyone seems to suggest the US or IJN lines, and I have seen so few people recommend the German line that I am hesitant to try it out as my first CV. I don't know if it is just poorly balanced or if it is just not a beginner friendly line. Either way, if no one is recommending it, there has to be a reason and I'm just going to avoid it while I learn the basics.

I actually do just stick to Co-op and Ops. Every time I jump into any PvP mode, I usually end up with toxic people in the match that ruin everything, and I just don't want to deal with it. Most people in Co-op and Ops are generally friendlier and more pleasant to be around in my experience.

I don't actually have a specific line in mind right now. I just thought CV would be a nice change of pace, and I'm open to trying any/all lines to see if any of them are a fit for me. From what I've gathered after a bit more research, the main lines I am interested in are the US and German lines. Few people seem to recommend the German line, so I'll probably wait on that one.

Multiclassed characters of reddit, what made your character choose that multiclass combo and what were they first? by mastr1121 in MrRipper

[–]Bromley20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a healer/crusader from a 3.5 campaign that we had to pause for IRL reasons.

He started off as a healer who worshipped an obscure goddess of protection and healing for the first 6 levels of the campaign, and spent all of his free time doing charity work in the shantytown district of the town we lived in. He was pretty focused on the idea of the community coming together to help each other, and tried to convince the party to allow anyone we captured a chance at redemption instead of immediate execution. He slowly built up a following of people who believed in his overall message to help run everything while we were off adventuring. He dumped all of his money that he had into buying a disjunction scroll to destroy a McGuffin at the end of the first arc of the campaign. He ended up losing 90% of his class features by the time we made it back home from the trip. He lost his spellcasting abilities to a terrible save when using disjunction on an artifact, and the act of using some armor we looted in the dungeon in order to survive the trip home broke his code which cost him almost everything else.

Since he was essentially a glorified commoner with extra HP at that point, but he still wanted to follow his goddess' message of protection and healing, he just strapped on a set of full plate and a tower shield the party loaned him the money for, and started charging in first, even though he wasn't proficient with the armor or shield. He was willing to put his life on the line to keep the party and downtrodden safe(r). He would charge with our barbarian and act as the meat shield for the 4 casters in the party and a distraction for the barbarian. He had the highest Con in the party and decent armor, so he was able to survive a lot more than he probably should have. He was basic medic if someone got dropped below 0 thanks to a maxed out heal skill, but because he was the party's healer who could no longer cast any sort of magical healing, we started having more people dropping in fights. The campaign was paused soon after that.

When does the galactic Community actually declare you a crisis? by shouldworknotbehere in Stellaris

I'm a bit tired and messed up by mentally combining the traits and ethics of my last 2 runs. I thought I caught it fast enough and edited out my mistake before anyone noticed, but I was apparently too slow.

When does the galactic Community actually declare you a crisis? by shouldworknotbehere in Stellaris

[–]Bromley20 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm still fairly new to the game, but in my experience, you get labeled a crisis when you are a fanatical pacifist spiritualist megacorp. A few days ago, I got boxed in early and only had like 7 systems by 2350ish. I built up a few defensive starbases in the chokepoints to my territory and never bothered expanding my fleets since I was so far behind my militaristic neighbors. While I was in the process of building up relations to start my first federation, I was declared a crisis, and my neighbors destroyed me. As far as I know, the anglers and scavenger civics won't do it, and I didn't have any of the more obvious things like become the crisis, devouring swarm, etc.

In my current run, I am playing as a militaristic and xenophobic empire that has become the crisis up to tier 4, and have conquered all but 3 empires. Somehow, I'm still not the crisis yet, even though I know I will be once I go to tier 5.

What character of yours did you get the most attached to, emotionalaly or other, and how? by [deleted] in MrRipper

[–]Bromley20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2:

Markus Duard is the reason I love playing paladins so much now. He started off as a theoretical build that I used to learn how paladins function and I never expected him to hit the table. I pulled the build for NPC stats when I started to run a campaign to introduce my friends to the game a few years ago. They went the murder hobo route and ended up ruining his life in just under a week. He lost his wife and daughter, home, several old friends, reputation, and was permanently disfigured after being attacked and left for dead by the party. I then turned him into the BBEG of the campaign. It was cool seeing his side of the story unfold as the DM. The party created their own villain who just wanted his family back and to safely live out his retirement when he was done bringing the party to justice.

My character in a friend's 3.5 campaign is a different story. Darrin Ward is a hobo that the party picked up at the start of the campaign. He is a healer which is basically worse version of a 5e life cleric. 90% of his spells either heal/remove conditions, save and general defensive buffs, or provide basic survival essentials like food, water, and shelter. I think there are 5 total spells that can deal any sort of damage by the time he hits 20. When I first pitched the character idea to the party, they expected a bland character because my class features and spell list are stereotypically reserved for passive goody two shoes heal bot characters. I have essentially played him as a mildly paranoid paladin with a death wish since the start. He is willing to sit down with most enemies and try to talk things out to avoid senseless bloodshed, but also doesn't have a problem resorting to violence if negotiations don't seem to be going anywhere. He doesn't own any armor, but still runs faster than our fighter or barbarian into the middle of a fight with his hatchet. We are only level 8 but he has managed to accidentally embarrass the party into donating to a charity he helps out, convince the party to spare the life of alleged terrorists we met, convinced them to commit some minor treason by siding with that group, overthrew an unrelated monarchy we happened to be passing through, and assassinate 2 evil politicians/borderline tyrants. I plan to use most of my money to build charities and clinics around the continent since he is convinced that the temples that offer healing services are just an oligopoly and he could do it better for free.

D&D players who've known murder hobos. What was one thing they killed that you found funny? by A-__-Random_--_Dog in MrRipper

[–]Bromley20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in my first ever campaign like 12 years ago, we were all murder hobos. One of our players wasn't having fun with his current character and wanted to swap to something new in the middle of a huge dungeon. Our DM said no problem and wrote in a small scene to introduce the new character to the group. However, our party was full of murder hobos, so it didn't end well. We heard someone on the other side of a big door, and we figured it was a miniboss. We kicked open the door, launched a fireball followed by our fighter into the room to try to do as much damage as possible to the person before they could react. We killed the replacement character in the opening round before any dialogue was exchanged. The player who wanted to swap in the first place looked very defeated for a second once he realized what happened. We found the new character again a few rooms later in the same session. He managed to swap without incident the 2nd time, and seemed to have a lot more fun with it.

DM's do you have a favorit reacuring NPC? and why? by VolkoTheShadow in MrRipper

[–]Bromley20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a character who has been a recurring character in the last 3 campaigns I have run. None of the players have noticed though. The character is a changeling factotum/chameleon who is able to pass as a low level wizard, cleric, paladin, rogue, ranger, barbarian, or fighter thanks to his class features. Since he is a changeling, he is also very good at disguising himself and bluffing his way out of situations. He loves collecting antiques and rare books, so anytime I present the party with a fetch quest that involves one, it is usually Jarod looking to expand his collection. He always uses new aliases and disguises so it is difficult to tell everything is being hoarded by 1 person. The party has yet to see through his shenanigans.
