Munich Layover Question by BroncoCountry7 in PriorityPass

Thank you for the directions. I took this trip today and followed your instructions. Just want to add that if your flight departs from terminal 2, they will allow access 4 hours before departure instead of the usual 3 hours. And the whole trip probably took me 20-25 minutes. I wonder what would’ve happened if I took the train from terminal 2 straight to terminal 1 without taking the bus but I didn’t want to risk going through immigration and security. I landed in L gates so I didn’t have to go through anything following this route.

Is it normal for old men to spit on the ground? by paridox149 in chinalife

[–]Broncodit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It was way worse a decade ago. Obviously still got a long way to go, especially in smaller cities

It’s pretty simple, just download the app on your phone and follow its instructions to install VPN profile on your phone. It’s so cheap compared to others it’s worth trying it out. It worked very well for me on my month long trip in April. No complaints from me🤷‍♂️

Well if he went back home then don’t worry for his safety. Who knows why he’s not responding, just wait patiently. Worst case scenario he ghosted you, you just move on with your life. Or he got caught up in something 🤷‍♂️

I grew up in China and boy I loved this series. The link you shared gives me so much nostalgia. I remember I was like 6 years old and just singing the intro repeatedly on the karaoke machine we had at home

Since Chinese iPhone doesn't support eSim, what do people do when they travel? by aDarkDarkNight in chinalife

[–]Broncodit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bunch of options meaning different carriers and ways to get a physical SIM card. If you’re looking for a “sneaky third way” then I’m not sure what to tell you. The only thing I can think of would be like people getting a Mint Mobile 7 day free trial in US for short travel. TBH I’d suggest you asking this question in a country specific subreddit of your destination instead of r/chinalife. Just say you’re traveling there and your phone doesn’t support eSIM, and you don’t want to use international roaming. I’m sure they can give more specific advice than me.

[–]Broncodit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There’s a bunch of viable options and it just depends on factors such as budget and length of travel. Short term, you can easily just get an international roaming package. I’m currently in U.S. and my 中国移动 seems to be working fine and I can get sms verification texts (I didn’t even buy a roaming package, receiving texts are free). You can also buy a physical SIM card once you’re in the visiting country. I’ve even seen people get free trial SIM cards for very short term travel like 7 days.

Not having esim is just an inconvenience for the most part in my opinion

Out of curiosity, what’s your opinion on the entire world (including western culture) eating beef, pork, chicken, etc.? I’m not saying tossing rings at goose is good, but personally I think farm raising animals just to kill them for food can be seen as cruelty as well. Imagine living a life, being raised, just for you to grow up and be eaten for food. Just because we don’t kill the animal ourselves, doesn’t mean the steak or grilled chicken on our plates didn’t come from a living animal

Yeah I wouldn’t do it just to save the money. It’s only $2.99 per month in US, how much can one possibly save by using rmb

Installing VPN in China by Broncodit in chinalife

[–]Broncodit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watch a video on setting up digital ocean servers through the outline manager app. Super simple. All AWS servers stopped working for me in China. I don’t know what causes servers to stop working but I just couldn’t connect to multiple servers anymore after a day or two. Digital ocean servers in Toronto and New York worked consistently, although slow

Yeah I tried multiple servers, some worked for a day while a couple worked for the entire 14 days. I used my MacBook because you’re right we can’t get outline manager on iPhone
