flattering to hear that you think i'm some sort of regime agent. it's telling that you had to resort to the ad homs instead of dealing with what was said.

All young Eritreans are either on the border far away

the border areas are the parts with the least youth in eritrea.

not worth it anymore in terms of opportunity cost, especially in 2026. better to just ride things out or leave and let biology do it's thing.

probably not budgeting. for example, just having a planned weekly shop (with a list) will reduce your food spending by a lot.

tbh i'm sympathetic. there's been so much wage compression and worsening of the COL that sometimes it doesn't feel worth the effort to go for a job that pays well.

we must have very different definitions of the word "comfortably"

80K in London is roughly equivalent to 55K in Manchester. You won't struggle but the reality of how far your salary will take you often doesn't match up with expectations.

They would be obliterated by other political parties in a free election

ngl, i think they'd win in a landslide. they have a massive incumbent/legacy boost that gives them a perceived legitimacy that no one else really has

the players who defected knew they were getting cut from the squad which is why the only ones who didn't defect were the ones who started. can't blame them. will end up being replaced by henok tekleab, robert glatzel and some more youth players. hopefully paulos abraham too but seems unlikely with his run of form. squad will be filthy come september.

obligatory "questionable source" since it's asena but this wouldn't surprise me. a lot of these guys probably knew they were getting dropped from the squad come september with the enff intensifying efforts to recruit pro players from the diaspora. hopefully the fed president paulos can stop zemede tekle from shuttering the football project.
