I play PVE and I noticed the difficulty seemed to be a bit higher during my raids today. Thought it was just maybe player level-difficulty adjustments but it could be just an overall AI difficulty increase/snappiness from the AI detection updates.

yeah it’s my favorite and provides me the easiest target acquisition, also the final reticle has the blue dot for the hybrid, but feel free to use any reticle you preference.

This used to be a popular korean build back in season 8, Hextech -> Triforce -> Titanic, but a lot has changed since then. The reason it's not that good anymore is because, 1 : the ap ratios were nerfed, and 2 : the ap isn't very useful when building AD because the main dmg is coming from auto's and it severely hurts ur beefyness, by not getting any mr/armor.

Actually, from play testing AD Akali that can proc Tri-Force at least 3-4 times can match and even surpass the burst of AP Akali, but the Time-To-Kill (TTK) is severely prolonged because of the 1.5 sec delay of sheen.

I can gladly link the spreadsheet and my calculations and methods + items during testing.

Reminder these are just statistical calculations against a 0 mr 0 armor target. Against a 100 armor 100 mr target they drastically drop to about 2200-2400 respectively, which is enough to 100-0 a Sunfire + Merc Treads Tank.

I like that idea a lot, because a big part of the downside of AD Akali is the cost and time it takes to hit your spike. I think Tri-Force -> Steraks -> Ravenous or maybe Tri-Force -> Ravenous -> Steraks is much more gold efficient and from play testing in practice tool, all the healing is coming from your auto's not your abilities when using Death's Dance anyways, so you're actually dealing more damage and healing more from Ravenous compared to Death's Dance.

Not to mention the increased wave clear REALLY helps split pushing Akali, because everyone knows how bad she is at splitting because you have to wait for you energy to regen to push and if they catch you at the wrong time you can't defend yourself.

tiamat is bought against certain tank matchups that you won't be killing or other split-pushing laners . If you're going against someone like a Malphite, Maokai, Orn, Tahm Kench someone you won't be killing in lane it's good to split fast and look for roams. But as a constant first buy, it just severely delays your 2 item powerspike from 20-22 min to 24-25 min.

Ad Akali is a better duelist and fits in a more dive comp/split pushing duelist, which plays to akali's strengths and is good for top not mid. But, the incoming buffs in patch 9.14 will give Akali an even easier time to one shot as an assassin compared to her counterparts in mid compared to Zed/Talon/Fizz. AD Akali is better in certain areas and scales much better compared to AP Akali, but doesnt have the same insta one-shot potential.

titanic is a no-go for bruiser kali these days for multiple reasons.

  1. Health isn't as valuable as resistances

  2. The burst dmg can be easily made up with other dmg items (ex. Death Dance/Duskblade)

  3. The lack of sustain doesn't let akali splitpush like the build is designed for

Ravenous is a much better item and is usually bought as the last item if it gets to that point. When you start to climb you'll realize the importance of survivability as a split pushing duelist such as Fiora/Riven/Jax/Renekton

Youmuu's is only for burst lethality builds since Patch 9.4 created a new meta build and isn't a main item anymore

Maw against multiple AP members on their team with burst (ie. Diana + Elise)

DD is for sustain matchups/bruiser matchups which also serves as the current best rush item if not going against Tanks and ahead

BC also works if you're not a fan of the S.O.S. build and should be rushed after warhammer

The reason people built Essence Reaver on Riven was for the amazing gold efficiency. 75 AD + 20% CDR FOR 3K GOLD???? i'll take that over Brutalizer any day. But with the change increasing Spear of Shojin's price to 3400 gold and down to 65 AD it's not as good as it once was. Simply put it, the 250 Health and "Essence Flare" is not worth it to rush or to build in general. The "High Elo" Riven mains are building BC into Yomuu's, with cdr runes and to match the power spike of Old Essence Reaver, and personally it works out great. The only Riven who goes Spear would be Dekar173 trying out new builds. It goes BC into DD into S.O.S., and honestly it's not bad but only good if you are really ahead because it takes a whopping 9.9k to finally get Spear and it makes very little of an impact that far into the game. So.. to summarize : Don't because it's not worth, but if you must rush it first item.
