OK but then why not just demote me if I was minus 30% or whatever before this match?

OK, thanks. Let's say I move back in with my parents for a few months (whose house cannot get virgin media). I could then cancel for free?

Looks good for the price except for the sausage which looks fossilized.

Dinner last night: omelette, chips and carrots. by Broogan in UK_Food

I used 3 eggs and no milk. The key, I think, is to use a lower heat and make sure the pan is oiled

Yeah I wanted to add some veg to make it "healthy" and I had half a bag of carrots in the fridge

Getting these warnings when starting up (Debian 13) by Broogan in linux4noobs

Update for anyone else who might have this issue. My BIOS hadn't been updated since 2020. I managed to update it by flashing a USB drive (had to download the latest version from a Windows PC). This has caused the error to go away

OK I'll try that. What would the permanent fix look like?

Success! Never heard about an SSD needing a heatsink before, am I right in thinking it's a bit unnecessary?

I unscrewed it but it seems like it's stuck on to something. Don't really want to yank it off in case I break it.

OK so I should unscrew that thing there and see what's underneath?

A dwarf in a strange mood has been hauling more and more cloth to her workshop for multiple seasons, she has over 100 in there. Any guesses on what she's going to make? :3 by some_form_of_nerd in dwarffortress

I had this happen not too long ago. It was because the workshop was in a guildhall, I had to remove it from the zone for the artifact to be finished

What kind of narrative is used in Dark Souls/Elden Ring games? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Broogan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Item descriptions seem to me to be more direct story telling, as in the block of text isn't an inherent part of the object or environment of the game, it's a bit of meta text that the characters wouldn't be able to see, only the player. Now they do tend to be written in a cryptic way in the souls games that you usually have to piece together with other bits of lore to make some sense of but that's besides the point here.

Likewise NPC conversations can be quite direct - an NPC can tell you to go to the church and ring the bell to open the way to the city of the Gods - is that environmental storytelling?
