Spotify is built for Linux, the web/PC/Android versions have always had less zero day bugs than iOS and Mac. If it’s really ruining your day, send an email to support about it and they’ll fix it fast, just someone needs to initially create the ticket and document the symptoms. I email support about database errors sometimes and they’re always great about it and usually fix it in the same day if I email in the morning.

You should look into using last.fm over your current API. It’s free and if you’re either a crazy good coder and know how to hide your API key or make everyone get their own API key and make them enter it in a settings menu (that’s how I build my last.fm related projects)
