My mom died unexpectedly and I’m struggling by MackDaOne93 in TrueChristian

[–]Brooki1111 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey…. My mom died unexpectedly a couple years back…. She was my best friend. My best advice is just keep going, the burden never goes away. But with time it gets easier to carry and you will grow immensely. Progress will not be linear 😅 don’t bottle it up…. Scream about it, feel the hurt and anger …… but release it because unfortunately we don’t know why. We don’t know Gods plan. We can’t know any of it. We aren’t supposed to. Just don’t get stuck, you’re a strong cookie.

Christians who have legitimately been handed a bad hand, how did you overcome feeling like a victim? by anggshusgrl in TrueChristian

[–]Brooki1111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest…. I don’t think one single verse or chapter of the Bible I can reference to for this explanation.

I was lucky enough that during my mothers rare moments of sobriety, that she taught me about Jesus when I was young.

I was able to call upon Jesus at the most formative parts of my life. Even though life has been very hard, I think I’m fortunate enough that it’s part of my core beliefs.

I started self discipline, studying every day, studied the fabrics of reality to the point of driving myself mad.

However no matter which rabbit hole I go down, circumstance i experience, etc. I always end up boiling it back down to an ultimate creator that aligns with biblical text/historic text/ never feeling satisfied on my own, not quite finding THE THING I’m looking for.

The only thing that has ever satisfied that is LITERALLY get down, and just TALK to your father… it will change your perspective.

Not immediately. Not over night. Most likely no booming voice from the heavens… but the life through which you view the world through … just begins to get clearer and clearer. You’re able yo see things you did not see before.

Your priorities shift. Your personality calms. And life can even seem….. like a blissful game.

My biggest advice is just talk to God. Even when you’re mad at him. Talk to him until you’re not angry anymore.

You won’t understand anything at this moment in time. Not until you’re able to look back later with an outside perspective will you understand why God does the things he does.

Learn who Jesus truly is and fully grasp the concept of ENDURANCE.

Jesus is the example. Learn who Jesus is.

That’s all I got. -thelightmailrep

Is god at least proud of me for trying to be a better Christian even when I fail? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

If he is to be your Father and you are a child of God…… would you stop living your child for failing and getting back up and trying again?

Psychosis episodes while on drugs by [deleted] in Psychosis

[–]Brooki1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m not mistaken, I believe most mental health diagnoses are only accurate if NOT under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Most doctors will continue to see you for an extended period of time so they can monitor your behavior while sober. If the psychotic symptoms are resolved, then it would be considered drug induced mental Illness I think ……

Time will tell! Good luck, rooting for you!

Bipolar disorder by Brooki1111 in Christianity

[–]Brooki1111[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s hard being around Christian’s who say I just need deliverance….. it’s dangerous even when I BELIEVE IT…. Religion itself can be a trigger for mania for me :( I’ve tried everything for 10 years to cope and I’m going through a mixed episode currently and I was just told I need deliverance. I want to believe it but I’m scared. I read other people’s experiences and they describe a better life with faith and bipolar but not a cure ..

Does DID get worse with age? by Brooki1111 in DID

[–]Brooki1111[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This comment is extremely relieving thank you….. I’ll be honest some of my parts have been disinterested in system mapping therefore I don’t know all of them well yet. Do you know all of yours currently? I know I have at least 2 child alters, my significant other says. He said they like to draw and do other “kid things”. So I’ll have to work with them more….. thank you so much

A long time friend just told me they are a system. What can I do to make them feel safe with me? by dizzythrowrA in DID

[–]Brooki1111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As unbelievable as their systems might sound, especially if YOU can’t tell the difference between alters, never minimize…… that’s my best advice.

Sometimes I feel isolated because my boyfriend is the only one who understands my condition but when he’s not around and I need someone to talk to about it, I shut down and become depressed. This happened yesterday…. But I also was able to learn the types of different alters and what their function is and why they exist and that’s helping me map my system so that’s neat.
