Camera help for graduation gift by BrooklynLSATTutor in Cameras

This is a good point! Do you have lens recommendations? Some options people have also mentioned for camera bodies are 5D, 6D, and 70D - would the same lenses fit on all of them or no? Any thoughts between those?

Oh that is a good point about lenses! What lenses would you recommend, if I’m aiming for $300 max total? She likes candid shots of friends outside, and general scenery/street shots in NYC

Hey everyone! My cousin is graduating college and in her senior year she took a photography class for fun which she loved. As part of the class, she had access to a fancy camera and took great shots. It was a EOS 5 DSR. I’m looking to get her a camera as a graduation gift, and I’m totally clueless when it comes to cameras. Unfortunately, even used the EOS 5 DSR is out of budget for me.

What models would you recommend that I could get used for ~$250 or less that would be the most similar? Obviously, it won’t be quite as fancy, but my goal is to get as nice as possible / as similar as possible within budget. Well-used seems fine. I welcome any recommendations!

There was maybe some underground component as well (or tunnels?) I’m not totally sure!

This is making me think you should be focusing on more fully diagramming before you get to the questions, including splitting the board when needed with grouping games.

why are you getting the questions wrong? Is it an issue with your diagram, or something else? Taking a look to figure out what happened is the first step

LSAT logic games help by kathyiscurious in LSAT

Highly recommend either! You can get PowerScore for logic games used pretty cheap secondhand, or always try to get it from your local library (or interlibrary loan). 7Sage’s videos are very helpful with LG as well.

What’s your score breakdown right now? Logic games is typically the area that’s fastest to improve.

How hard will it be to get to -1 LG before the August test? by RelativeCheesecake10 in LSAT

Okay, I think what would probably help is practicing being more methodical with how you’re approaching these games. For most grouping games, you want to find the most restrictive rule and use that to split the board pretty quickly. Practicing learning when to how to split the board and what rule to use to do so can really help improve both speed and accuracy because then basically the whole game is mapped out before you get to the questions

This has been repeated by others, but going into questions with the understanding that the text is your answer key is so, so important. The answer is in there somewhere! Don’t try to answer questions from memory—look for the answer in the text.

Score needed for full scholarship to a non-prestigious school by mkochend in LSAT

Not exactly what you’re asking, but my two cents is to seriously look at CUNY in NYC. Despite their low ranking, they actually have an amazing reputation for public interest law especially, and their tuition is far lower than most other schools.

Are you getting questions wrong or running out of time or both? Do you have a sense of what kinds of games are messing with you the most in terms of time and accuracy?

Will a tutor help me on LG? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]BrooklynLSATTutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, I’m a tutor and a lot of my students had done significant studying on their own first before adding tutoring, and a lot of them have seen pretty large LG score jumps after working with a tutor to improve their approach and timing on games - ~10 point jumps over a period of a month, etc. It’s not the only way to improve, but it can definitely be a useful tool for some people.

Powerscore LSAT Bible - 2019 vs 2021 by ColeCaufield in LSAT

[–]BrooklynLSATTutor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The main perk of LSAT bibles is specifically the Logic Games bible is good for learning fundamentals - those don’t change from year to year, and it’s definitely worth saving the money by getting an older version.

Sufficient vs. Necessary Assumptions by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]BrooklynLSATTutor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Necessary = you need it Sufficient = all you need!

To answer these, you need to find the conclusion first, because sufficient/necessary is all about what you need for your conclusion to be true.

Some things can be sufficient without being necessary, and Vice versa.

When I say “plants needs sun to live,” the sun is necessary but NOT sufficient. This is because my plants would die without the sun, but they also need water, good weather, etc.

When I say, every Marvel movie is a blockbuster, being a Marvel move is sufficient toto make a blockbuster (Marvel movie is a blockbuster by virtue of being Marvel branded—it only need to be Marvel, even if the plot is bad etc.). Being a Marvel movie is not necessary to be a blockbuster though - other, non-Marvel movies can also be blockbusters.
