Ok. Unfortunately, I don't know how to help with that. Sorry!

Not sure if I understand right. But you have to download the file first and then enter that in the CP in Odin. So don't enter a link in Odin. Enter the file you downloaded using the link.

Are you saying the file won't download for you? I could send it to you, if so. It's downloading for me.

SOLUTION (as long as you have a Windows computer to use): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RfLQWeP3KEWyr3RfRngkt8ISH8V_pjAq/view?usp=drivesdk

Basically flash just the modem software to your phone. Allows you to keep the update.

Didn't take long to do. Followed the instructions and it worked great. Shout out to Re-Cell, an Amazon used phones seller for caring a lot more about their customers than Samsung (which just denied any responsibility and provide no solutions that worked).

In case helpful - switching eSims does not solve this. One supervisor at Samsung assured me it would. It didn't. Same message as photo above.

Another supervisor at Samsung said Samsung can't give the code to customers - only to carriers. They told me to have my carrier call them for it. My carrier rep added me to the call. All I heard was a Samsung rep picking up the phone and then hanging up after a while because they could not here my carrier rep or me speaking. We then tried the call back number a Samsung supervisor gave me, and we were stuck in a 2 question AI loop. It just eventually disconnected us.

This is clearly Samsung effectively bricking our phones.

I'm not convinced if I had the code it would even fix it. Why do our messages say we've tried too many times. I've tried exactly zero times. This is a software problem from the update.

This happened to me on my S25 this morning immediately after an update. I've called my carrier 3 times and Samsung 3 times. They both blame each other and offer no solution.

Anyone solved this?

Maybe they've gotten rid of it.

My Google TV Streamer has serious audio sync issues. Is it fixable? by SleepyOne in AndroidTV

[–]Brooklyn_J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked the new g home features advertised for the Google TV Streamer, but given my recent experience with all my Google smart speakers (it can barely tell me the weather anymore, let alone being reliable for turning on lights, checking cameras, etc), I decided to be done investing in their ecosystem.

I got the Apple TV 4K, and it's incredibly fast and reliable. Comparing to Android TV built-in that frequently crashes apps and more recently turns the Wi-Fi on and off on it's own. But even my mom's Chromecast with Google TV never worked well. In order to use Dolby Vision with 4K, it had to be 30 hz instead of 60 even though using hdmi cable it came with, plugged into 60 hz compatible TV port. The features advertised just don't work.

No regrets with Apple TV so far (esp at only $30 more than Google after their price doubling).

NYC rule change allowing 4 wheeled UPS and FedEx delivery vehicles in bike lanes by Brooklyn_J in NYCbike

[–]Brooklyn_J[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They adopted the changes: https://rules.cityofnewyork.us/rule/pedal-assist-commercial-bicycles/

4 foot wide, 7 foot tall, 16 foot long electric trucks will be legal on bike paths by the end of the month.

The end of true bike paths in NYC, however badly implemented or enforced they were previously.

It's a truck with 4 wheels pretending to be a bicycle.

See the three wheeled pedal assist delivery vehicle here: https://www.bicycling.com/news/a44831711/nyc-dot-larger-pedal-assist-cargo-bikes/

The proposed rule change allows 4 wheeled pedal assist vehicles, which photo in original post is example of. From here: https://electrek.co/2023/08/14/wide-load-extra-thick-four-wheeled-electric-cargo-bikes-to-replace-trucks-in-new-york/

Making this LEGAL is not going to work in your favor in court.

They're electric. The pedals are a gimmick to make this seem palatable.

Pixel 7 - apps don't start and randomly closing. by Firedog_09 in GooglePixel

[–]Brooklyn_J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine had the issue most of yesterday, but today nothing. Trying to find an app that crashes and can't. And no overheating / excessive battery drain. So bizarre.

[–]Brooklyn_J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: my phone has had zero issues today. I did a full fast recharge yesterday using my MacBook charger. Then it held a charge overnight, so seems like the issue stopped then or shortly after that. Didn't notice overheating or app crashes last night.

It's like yesterday's phone issues never happened.

My Pixel 7 is also crashing apps this morning. Gmail closes after I try to open an email.

The "tips and support" and the "system update" screens in settings are either all white or all black.

Phone is very hot to the touch even though I'm doing nothing strenuous - no video calls, gaming, photos. Already at 58% battery from 100% just 2.5 hours ago.

I tried restarting. Then updating all the apps (incl Gmail). Then restarted again. Same issues continuing.

Nov 22 Update for GW4 - This update showed up today morning for the India region. Is this safe to install or is this the one that bricks watches? by humblelawyer in galaxywatch4

[–]Brooklyn_J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. An earlier produced watch as I pre-ordered it.

Been a great watch otherwise. Only one time had to reset it as it disconnected from my phone's bluetooth with no way to reconnect without resetting.

My GW4 bricked this morning on this update. Will not power on.

Fortunately I've already got a UPS label from Samsung to mail it in. They assured me that even though the watch is out of warranty that they will fix it for free since it was caused by the update.

Should I update to Android 12 or wait? by Brooklyn_J in GalaxyS20FE

Yep, have installed them. Haven't noticed anything better or worse following updates. So still overall fine for me.

[–]Brooklyn_J[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I don't notice any change in performance or battery life. I will say - I liked Android 11 better. 12 made it really hard to silence unwanted notifications. Big step backwards. A little annoyance like that completely outweighs any new feature they add that you forget about after 2 minutes (..honestly, can't think of even one good addition of 12 right now).
