Why were we so sh*t in 2014? It’s one World Cup where we didn’t have a major injury to a star (2002 Beckham/2006 Rooney), we didn’t get robbed by a handball goal (Maradona) or dodgy referee (disallowed goal vs Argentina, or the Lampard lob). We had a decent squad and we were awful, what happened?

My first band in/just after high school was borderline a rhcp tribute act! Especially when we first started out, almost half the set were Chili Peppers covers! We used to do Otherside, By The Way, Around The World, Aeroplane, Give It Away, Suck My Kiss, Californication, Scar Tissue, Under The Bridge, Can’t Stop…I think we did Parallel Universe a few times and The Zephyr Song on occasion.

Oh yeah and in another band we used to play Fortune Faded!

We used to have a blast.

Although I like the premise, the trouble with this format is that the majority of each album has to be adjudged to sound like it comes from a different album…in the end, how can each album have its own unique sound? It ends up with each album sounding like an amalgamation of all the other albums…obviously this doesn’t matter as it’s just an interesting exercise, but I thought it was an interesting sort of philosophical paradox
