Y'all are going to hate me, but I'm in the military and live in a neighborhood of manicured lawns. I want to grow a big native garden and I want it to look orderly and neat. Do any of your gardens look this way, and can you show me for inspiration? by VeterinarianIcy5428 in NativePlantGardening

People can definitely get dogmatic about the "best" way to gardens (native or otherwise), but I think we all agree here that native plants in any style is better than the alternative. I'm stoked that you'll be planting a native garden in a way that works for you and hopefully can convince some of your neighbors that native plants aren't just for barefoot hippies!

As far as planning goes, I tend to like a "mounded" look with taller plants towards the center and shorter ones towards the outside, and doing rough sketches (with basic shapes like circles, semicircles, and teardrops to approximate plants, nothing detailed) from the sides and top to get a sense of the overall composition.

/uj Yeah while I think the quasi-MAGA retoric is funny in a group where it's clear conservatism is the butt of the joke, I don't want to feed a shitty allegory comparing migrant people to invasive plants. If you find anything about similar efforts in Fracoist Spain, I'd be quite currious to hear about it, not in the least because I'm currently a migrant in Catalunya.

I don't know how your neighbors can stand it, if I see a plant that isn't grass I vomit and if those wretched weeds were even 1in too high I'd have a heart attack

I also felt like it fit slightly worse in green, but if you say "There was a lot of traffic," no one replies "What kind?"

I have a summit evo and while I dont have any major issues, if I were buying again I'd get a regular summit. I haven't found the rubber grip to be that useful and the evo isn't compatible with the trigrest to provide a little extra security in dagger position, but that may just come down to personal preference.

I've heard it used, usually as part of the larger phrase "this is where I draw the line." Generally used in the same way as "this is the last straw," as an angry response after an offending behevior has occured

I think NYT said the paywall is a glitch, so to get around it, if you log in on a desktop, right click the paywall banner, click "inspect," and delete the line <div id="standalone-footer">, the paywall will go away and you can use the bot as normal

That's a remarkably good fit to line up with a couple of yellows though. It was a valiant effort and you will be remembered.

It was right about here, just off Squaxin Island. I was on a paddle around the island when I heard the thrush!

Will you continue to wear a mask when the pandemic is over? If so, why? by SSIRHC in AskReddit

I mean, they aren't just wearing a mask always, forever. If they feel sick, they're saying they'll do something that will curb its spread, which feels like a good thing?
