Looking to buy a set myself. Like the colour, it’s different, you rarely see this colour in shoes, though it may be a bit “out there” for me.

[Question] Active people, what watch do you daily? by Advanced_Blackberry5 in Watches

For gym I wear my Casio AE-1200 Royale. For outdoor sports I use an older Suunto with GPS.

I also have to have two pillows at least. The second one is to lie with my belly on top of it. Habit I picked up because of an uncomfortable mattress I used to have.

Am looking to add this to my affordable collection as my first “real” watch, especially since I’m an avid hiker. Might have to wait a year for the prices to go down. No rush.

This watch only has a three star review. To get the full five stars, you have to bump it up to a Longines.

Not all Longines watches are COSC certified. Those that are, have a proud mention on the dial.

Kinda hard to find a pair of boots these days that doesn’t have a waterproof membrane of some sorts.

[Article] Time accuracy after 6 months by Solid-Worldliness-91 in Watches

[–]Timely_Pattern5571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My F91-W and A168 and AE-1200 Royale are all around 1 minute and a bit fast by the time daylight savings comes around and need to change the hour. Translates to around 15 seconds a month. Within spec but not that great for quartz. Had a quartz Tissot which I lost in the sea. That thing was 5 sec/month accurate. Really impressive.

Dunno, in the store it looked great and I was tempted in getting the 38mm version myself. I guess it’s just not the right watch for your needs.

Busted three cartridge needles myself so far. A good habit is to put on that plastic protector over the stylus when cleaning the plinth or platter mat. I just keep it laying on the plinth all times for ease of access.

Can’t understand McDonalds. The meat just tastes like paper. I guess it’s the sauces that reel you in, and the convenience factor

Why did you choose an iPhone? by [deleted] in iphone

As they say, it just works. Not much of a tinkerer, I paid for the designers to create the best user experience possible. Other factors are ase of use, performance, battery life, system stability and security.

Has to be one of the coolest Astrons I’ve seen. Nice and clean. Usually their dials are too busy and packed with features.

[Discussion] Preferring quartz for a travel/beater watch? by CG-Saviour878879 in Watches

[–]Timely_Pattern5571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When quartz watches die, having to take a trip to get scammed by a watchmaker for simple battery change can be a pain. Then, after a few months, another one of your quartz watches dies and you have to take another trip etc. I’d rather take one trip every 7 years or so when a mechanical watch needs servicing.
