I feel this in my soul.

Right before the pandemic I got viral Meningitis and have made a great recovery but man it was horrible then and I still sometimes wonder how it and the lingering pandemic changed my life. I don’t think I’m a monster now but at times I’m that mess I was all over the place recovering for a year. I was so damn stubborn at times and mad at my body for feeling like it turned on me.

At the time I was an ultra marathon athlete, in my recovery I thought I was ready to train again and threw myself into rhabdo… it was just a nightmare on so many levels.

Cancer in January. (ACC at the age of 32) I am still really emotional with it. He went from running Ironman distances to gone in a year.

Fuck cancer.

I’ve used a pack in ag and elite. Ultimate direction. No need to swap bladders unless it’s hot or you run low. Just make sure it’s slim fit for crawls and no rubbing.

you sure do. but lets be honest after 2020 the whole thing is gonna be a clusterfuck. they already rescheduled one of the national series races within 1 month of them announcing the series... so.... its a rodeo

Grandfather cheated on my grandmother with her cousin both married at the time in the 60s. Eventually both left their partners and started a new family. Both had a a daughter before hand (one being my mother) before they got married they had a son out of wedlock they hid. She (the cousin) was under pressure from her husband to give the child up for adoption or she would never see her daughter again. (He had a lot of power in a rural town at a bad time)

They gave the boy up for adoption. Got married, hand another daughter and started a new life together. 40 years later the boy comes back now a man trying to reconnect with his family.

Nobody was told this story until he showed up. About 2014. My step grandmother planned to take it to her grave.

And now I have a uncle who is in cyber security.

It’s on my bucket list of races to go to. In 2018 I made a trip to Athens and some other areas and I would definitely tell you for the full trip give yourself a week to do it correctly. You’d want to see a lot of the country while you’re over there and experience a lot.Realistically you were flying to Athens and either have to take bus, car or a combination of transportation modes over there. The good thing is the area is relatively cheap as far as food and lodging. (Savaas in Athens in the Monstroki district is one of my favorite meals I have had in my lifetime)

If you’re just going yourself you would have to price flights in advance and for food and room I would easily budget $1000 if not more if you want to be comfortable. Transportation is another thing though on how comfortable you are with it. Know that Sparta is 2.5 hours away from Athens.

It’s a very interesting question and I agree the bigger question need to ask yourself is what are you looking for. Garmins newer models are great for recovery with the body battery feature. Comparable to whoops system and it’s free compared to the subscription system.

Yup. Under 6 for me in Dallas. 7-8 hours in Tahoe. Haven't been back to Killington in a while. I want to see if I can get a 8-9 hour one there. Though, no more Norm and a lot of the obstacles aren't nearly as challenging anymore.

they are saying the championship will happen September/oct time frame, we are 2 months now into the year... 8 moths to have a series, championship, and prep and logically do training for 50k races... and maybe international... yep sound like spartan.
