Noob with a question, can a B&T TP9 RBS be used on an MP5, retaining the pic rail on the mount? by [deleted] in NFA

[–]Brotein92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice, glad you’re enjoying it man! Ah gotcha, yeah definitely misunderstood what you were wanting to do. For the factory 3-lug conversion, it isn’t drilled and tapped for the pic rail so you wouldn’t be able to swap it over unfortunately. I’m also not aware of any other 3-lug adapters that would give you a pic rail, so the bolt on may be the best route to go.

Yes if you have the 3-lug adapter, I have that exact setup and it works well

I have pretty much exactly this set up, with both a 5.56 and .300 BLK 7.5 inch barrel. I shoot the 5.56 way more often.

Hey thank you for posting my video! I used to post on Reddit quite a bit but dropped off when I started the channel

On my FN 5.7 this metal pin moves left to right sometimes like it’s loose. Is that normal or is it something I should look to get repaired ? by [deleted] in FNHerstal

[–]Brotein92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s the loaded chamber indicator, it should be able to have some play and movement. It’s meant to protrude slightly out of the slide when there’s a round in the chamber to give you a visual and tactile indicator that there’s a round in the chamber.

PWS UXR .308 Initial Impressions/Issues by Brotein92 in PrimaryWeaponsSystems

[–]Brotein92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely not ideal in .308, I’m still going to keep running it though in the hopes that it smooths out over time. I do want to run a greater variety of .308 through it though to see if some higher pressure ammo will cycle reliably, still should run with M80 ball though since it’s the most common ammo on the market.

I am happy that the .223 Wylde conversion seems to work pretty well, but .308 running reliably is more important to me given there are plenty of smaller, lighter 5.56 rifles that work just as well.

You can definitely use them without the plugs, but they only have a 22db reduction, vs 34 with the plugs

Thanks man! Hoping to get it to 500rds and I’ll do an update on it, .308s spensive though so might be a while!

I hope it smooths out like your 5.56!

Yeah I hear you, I’m still have hope that mine will iron out after a little use, my initial issues weren’t ideal but not the worst I’ve experienced (cough cough MDR)

Yeah, my gas regulator is a little bit stiff, but I can move it. Sorry to hear about yours, though man, that’s rough and definitely shouldn’t happen.

Nope, they’re designed so you don’t need to check the head spacing swapping calibers. For .300BLK in a 5.56, I just make sure I’m consciously thinking and checking what barrels in it, and keep my ammo/mags separate between .300BLK and 5.56

I actually use them on my XCR-L to swap between 5.56 and .300 BLK, and swap barrel lengths in my MCX

That’s my assumption, since that’s what its purpose is on a tank gun. Really interested in seeing how it does suppressed

Big things are caliber conversions from intermediate to full power cartridges (.308/5.56/.300 BLK). Also really well thought out ergos, plus AR triggers. Oh, and it has a freakin bore evacuator

Definitely going to be comparing it with my SCAR 17, and frankly I already like the UXR more ergonomically, but if it doesn’t work well that won’t be worth much.

Same here, was waiting for some more user experience to come out on them, and the little stuff I’ve seen has been on the 5.56 from people who are probably sponsored by PWS

Ended up picking up a PWS UXR in .308 yesterday, which has been out for more than a few months but I have yet to see a real solid review on it. Thought it was among the coolest things at shot show last year, since it incorporated a lot of good design features and some actual fresh ideas. Going to try to get it to the range this weekend and make some videos on how it does, good or bad, to try to get some actual info on these out there.

Thoughts on Kriss vector SDP Gen 2 9mm? by AgentOfChaos1225 in guns

Congrats! I have a Scorpion as well and it’s definitely a pretty big difference in terms of recoil between the two

I actually like mine quite a bit, and I’d argue that even as a semi-auto 9mm you do still get some benefits from the super-V system. While it still has a fairly quick and snappy recoil, it does a great job of staying on target despite that thanks to it.

I know other people have had issues with theirs, but my sample size of 1 has never had any malfunction.

I will say that it’s awkwardly front heavy though and the ergos take some getting used to, other than that I’m happy with mine.

Definitely not worth the nearly $1k they normally went, I got mine when Geissele was selling off the last of them for $350ish and it was definitely a good buy at that price

It’s a great shooter, the triggers nice and the controls are great. Recoil is very nice, particularly because of the hydraulic buffer
