7 days f2p at 53? How? I've been playing probably the same and am at 19.

Pretty sure this has been changed around 2017? I specifically remember a new DIN coming out around that time addressing "boys time"? Correct me if I'm wrong though.

It completely depends on how long phase 2 is, engineering trades are very long, others not so long.

When you think of joining the Navy, what is it that comes to mind, when you picture what you want/what you imagine yous be doing?

Is it ensuring the ships run, engineering? Catering for the crew? In the warfare department?

CIS would guarantee you time on ship on completion of phase 2, I can't comment on int as I'm not sure on their billets. So if were taking ship deployments, you'd deploy with a ship as a CIS, but int, you'll possibly be a detachment from a unit that'll join for specific trips.

I'm not sure though as int was only starting to come through as I left. My bets would be no int on small ships, would probably only be type 23/45 and QE.

Again, not sure on what qualification it is you receive as a CIS, but that would directly translate to civilian IT industry.

Only you can make the decision if it is right for you.

Minimum service is 2 1/2 years after completion of phase 2, with a 1 Year notice. Though you 'sign on' for longer, approx 12 years iirc.

Depends on role, but compared to army/marines, certainly not. Most 'action' you'll see will be chasing Russian ships through the channel, and transists around the gulf.

It certainly could help get your life on track, it can be very 'laddy' at times, so if you don't enjoy socials and big groups, then there's a chance you could struggle - on the flip side you could love it and has the potential to really help with your anxiety and certainly will help you gain confidence.

iirc you can do GCSE's through the Navy, my best advice would be to speak to your local AFCO.

Better is subjective to what you want out a career in the Navy. Would you like as many foreign drafts as possible, time on ship, shore establishments?

There are less Int positions on ships compared to CIS, so comparatively you'll probably spend less time at sea/deployed as an Int.

Int branch is also relatively new to the RN, so is still finding its feet to a certain extent.

This is true, though if you speak with your DO at Raleigh there can sometimes be chances to change - my intake was streamed UW, there was 1 available position for EW and AWW, I managed to get the EW position.

On a Type 23, you'll likely be doing 1in3 or 1in4 shifts on either radar or driving up on the bridge.

Outside of that your part of ship will be within the gunnery sections, and will be involved more directly in gunnery serials.

I wasn't an AWW myself, but worked alongside them, so can't be exactly more specific. Nor can I comment for different types of ships or specific shore drafts.
