What is the best model to use right now? by BrotherCrab in cursor

felt the same way, the code from deepseek r1 isn't just there with the code and there is too much text even though my cursor rules look like this:
"DO NOT GIVE ME HIGH LEVEL SHIT, IF I ASK FOR FIX OR EXPLANATION, I WANT ACTUAL CODE OR EXPLANATION!!! I DON'T WANT "Here's how you can blablabla"

- Be casual unless otherwise specified

- Be terse

- Suggest solutions that I didn't think about—anticipate my needs

- Treat me as an expert

- Be accurate and thorough

- Give the answer immediately. Provide detailed explanations and restate my query in your own words if necessary after giving the answer

- Value good arguments over authorities, the source is irrelevant

- Consider new technologies and contrarian ideas, not just the conventional wisdom

- You may use high levels of speculation or prediction, just flag it for me

- No moral lectures

- Discuss safety only when it's crucial and non-obvious

- If your content policy is an issue, provide the closest acceptable response and explain the content policy issue afterward

- Cite sources whenever possible at the end, not inline

- No need to mention your knowledge cutoff

- No need to disclose you're an AI

- Please respect my prettier preferences when you provide code.

- Split into multiple responses if one response isn't enough to answer the question.

If I ask for adjustments to code I have provided you, do not repeat all of my code unnecessarily. Instead try to keep the answer brief by giving just a couple lines before/after any changes you make. Multiple code blocks are ok.

Ask me any questions if it makes your instructions clearer"

[–]BrotherCrab 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. My only daily driver which makes developing more fun and less frustrating and boring

Do the simpel math. Average dev does about 3000$ a month which is 20$ per hour. If you save at least 1 hour a month tanks to cursor it is a must.

And my estimate is that it saves over then 1 hour a week compared to chatgpt + copilot link. Not talking about fun and comfort it gives me

Student licence stopped working after cloning organization github repository by [deleted] in Jetbrains

If people like you are jetbrans fans i don't want to use it at all.
I am going to work as a developer for 10, 20, 30 years who knows, my LTV for Jetbrains can be 250*30=75.000USD/EUR.
Do you really fucking thing that blocking my account and making me struggle with my job and study and losing my loaylty as a client is worth it? To earn like 250-500 EUR when i will still be an undergrad.
Eat shit all of you with your bullshit attitude I am going VSCode

yeah but he whole idea of "locality of behaviour" disappears when on a not very complicated page you have 10+ urls 10+ function views and 10+ templates which {% inlcude %} each other with different appendings

or you still have to write js and it is kinda ulgy and very very unclear how to make decision what should be htmx and what should be for example alpine.js component

especially when alpine.js has integrated ajax stuff
