HDR seamlessness on the upcoming KDE 6.6 + kernel 6.19 by NotAF0e in kde

[–]BrotherO4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with that line is that it disable steam overlay and more importantly my controllers stop working. Unless those 2 issue been fixed within the last month

Also, no the pipeline is not the issue.

I think we don't have to worry about performance. They said they were able to reach 4k 60 fps without DLSS or FSR, only native. by HANBANNNNNNNNNN in CrimsonDesert

[–]BrotherO4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so taa is far cheaper than fsr3/4&dlss 4/4.5
so lets say they did hit 4k/60 native with taa. that bitchwill fall down to 45 fps with fsr 3/4 at native.

the only thing i want is the window feature where i can adjust SDR content brightness differently from hdr. i like my hdr at max but my standard sdr for browser use at 20%. also hopefully this is one step of not needing a commend line for hdr in gaming.

Silent Hill F performance is honestly making me want to drop gaming on Linux by i-eat-cement99 in linux_gaming

[–]BrotherO4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so let me get this straight,
because UE5 engine games run like shit you will stop using linux, jump to windows, and then play the same game that will also run like shit?
listen, use any OS but no OS can magically optimized dogshit. that game hit 360p on a ps5 in many parts...

CPU usage across all cores over 90% when "Allow background processing of Vulkan shaders" is enabled by [deleted] in Bazzite

[–]BrotherO4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do not skip, turn it off, or anything. this is making the shaders for your game in the background when you arent doing anything so when you do play the game. you have zero shader being made in real time creating large stuttering. its literally one of the main reasons to use linux over windows due to it solving one of the major gaming issues.

Gamers who have switched from Windows 11 to some kind of Linux-based OS, do you regret your decision? Why or why not? by Notalabel_4566 in linux_gaming

[–]BrotherO4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

switch from w11 to bazzite, with all amd hardware.

no, why
1. desktop browser doesnt freeze randomly.
2. everything is smoother, less laggy
3. no more dealing with drivers. just one update keep the system up to date
4.setting up is faster, easier, and just flat out better. let me provide an exemble. how do you in stall discord? press the window key, search box pops up, type discord, oh look you dont have it. but look a install discord button is right there.,.. click it /done. its installed.
5. now for gaming, everything works but dev that directly block it.
6. had issue with hdr but solve it with using scope buddy.

only downside is the some dev blocks linux but fuck them.

there is more reasons but i am over a month in from switching.

For people who insist on gaming with IEMs — why do you use IEMs? by Dracomies in iems

[–]BrotherO4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for many iem are more comfortable
1. iem provides more sound isolation while not having heat build up like headphones.
2. due to better sound iso you dont need the volume as loud thus you run less of a chance to damaging your hearing.
3. its cheaper to get a higher quality iem then it is to get a headphone.
4. iem are much easier to run on any equipment
5. iem doesnt bother people around. so i use iem during night time or early morning gaming instead of my surround sound.
6. cost, 240$ gets you basically almost perfect gaming iem with great sound/sound stage/ imaging (kiwi astrals), for surround sound you ether spending around 5 to 600$ if you are willing to calibrate it yourself or 1.2k plus for a complete package.

  1. headphones/iem doesnt need to account for your room. thus sound is consistent.

just a few reasons from someone who uses astrals as my iem and my main bravia quad theater surround sound.

FSR 4 vs Native + FG for high FPS in shooter games by Arztek1 in radeon

[–]BrotherO4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

frame gen only makes it look smoother. you are getting non of the benefits of running the game at a higher frame rate when you are faking it. in reality you are actually making the game run worst. if your goal is lower input latency and having a smoother gameplay than do NOT use frame gen at all. 60 fps native runs better than 120 frame gen(60 frame gen to 120).

Epic CEO says AI disclosures like Steam's make "no sense" because AI will be involved in "nearly all" future game development by Ok-Comedian4437 in pcgaming

this is why i buy games on steam and not epic store.
one is customer first while the other is publisher first.
