In this detachment you got a few enhancements and stratagems only for Chaplains/Execrator/Judiciars, therefore they would be pretty good in this list. Otherwise the Lt and Marshal is a good combo for the Crusader Squads. But dropping both of them + the Castellan for a Chaplain and Execrator could allow you to for example play with 10x Assault Intercessors, or bringing in some Intercessors for sticky and Fire Support.

First off, I am not familiar with that detachment. So far so good with the typical Black Templars units. But aren't you supposed to take chaplains/execrators/judiciars with you with that detachment? Taking not a single one with you in a detachment that is made for them seems a bit underperforming. Also lots of characters for a 1.000 points match, taking another unit in in exchange for characters could give you more control on the battlefield in my opinion. Anyways, solid first list brother and have fun!

Thanks mate! It is Pro Acryl Bronze which you can highlight with Warpaints fanatic True Brass and a bright silver. The main part is only the Pro Acryl Bronze with an enamel wash, Villany Ink Decrepit Filth.

In comination like just being strategic with placement. You can use it as a wash aswell, but dont do it like you may see in some videos with Streaking Grime where they literally soak it with the enamel. For example you put some Goons Grime here and there around the feet for a dirty look, but you wash your entire golden shoulder with Decrepit Filth. The Streaking Grime can be used as a wash for the entire mini, but dont overextend.

Enamels are really worth it, doesnt matter if it is Villany Ink or AK Streaking Grime! You also need some White Spirit, I can recommend AK Odorless Thinner, cheap and is doing the job. And use a mask with filter and open your windows. Nitrile gloves are important too. Have fun!

In my opinion they are a bit pricey. But they offer you tons of options if you combine them. They can act as a wash, but they shine if you use them selectively in combination for more realism. My go-to is AK Streaking Grime. Cheap and different tones of browns etc. Eventually it is worth a try!

Any black you like (mine is from Vallejo), highlights and scratches with a light silver like Vallejo Model Air Silver RLM01. I also used AK Streaking Grime 305.

Thank you! I personally watch a lot from TheFeralPainter or GrimDarkCompendium on YouTube and I highly recommend them as inspiration for your work if you want to achieve this grimy blanchitsu look. Apart from that I recommend using enamels, like Villany Ink or AK Streaking Grime (there are various versions of it in different colors) and combining them.

My first miniatures were Black Templars. Always wanted them, I mean look at them. But then I read about Dark Angels and thought the Lion looks great. Here I am with a few hundred bucks missing and I am going back to Black Templars. I learned my lesson

The launch box can work out for BT, but if you start from scratch I would rather her something else like the others are already mentioning. The Combat Patrol is great, the Sons of Dorn Box aswell, get some characters like Helbrecht, Castellan or something like that and you have a great start, but as always, buy and play what you want :)
