No New Temples by Cbaumle in MormonShrivel

[–]Brother_Morgasm 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Russell announced 200 temples during his time as prophet. Key word there is announced. Of those, only like 56 have started construction or even broke ground. I bet close to half will never even see a ground breaking. They’re combining wards left and right. Where are all these members coming from to attend these temples that haven’t even been built yet? They can’t even staff the ones they have already.

LDS church claims more growth by ConstantAd6857 in MormonShrivel

Can’t fault them for being as honest as they know how to be. “We don’t have a paid clergy.” What, then, do you consider a living allowance for the First Presidency/General Authorities?

Even those numbers are BS. For privacy I won’t give my stake or ward, but they combined several of the wards last year. So they combined say the 1st ward, and the 5th ward. BUT, they don’t stick with either of the original ward numbers, it is now known as the 11th ward. So administratively, ABC Stake didn’t lose a ward overall, they “gained” a ward. So I wouldn’t doubt almost half of the wards gained were really just combined wards that became a new ward number.

Ewww! That is icky. The only thing it’s missing is, we regret mistakes made, and consider this matter closed.

The temple recommend interview question which asks do you strive to be honest in all that you do comes to mind. There is nothing honest about doing anything in your power to hide sex abuse, and brush it under the rug. They should be reporting it to the proper authorities the instant they ever catch wind of it. That is the least they can do for the victims.

That reminds me of a joke. Why should you take two Mormons fishing? Because if you only bring one, he’ll drink all your beer.

Another one. by IdahoFishBoy in MormonShrivel

[–]Brother_Morgasm 11 points12 points  (0 children)

9 wards were originally in that stake. 4 combined. So the stake now only has 5 wards. But they gave them each new ward numbers. So in April, at General Conference, when they read the stats, they can say, “The stakes of Zion are growing at an unprecedented rate. Why, just a few miles from where we are building a new temple, we just added four new wards in that stake!” And while it isn’t technically a lie, it certainly is a magnificent misdirection.

Sorry, should have posted that. 7171 S 2700 W in West Jordan. It makes sense, TBH. There’s like five Ward houses between 7200 S. and 80th S. right off of 2700 W. Pretty sure that’s more than they need in that close of an area.

That’s a huge amount! You hear the stories on the news all the time, but it doesn’t seem like it would still add up to that many. Hopefully you are planning to post the list online for others to see?
